  • I saw some photo stock work by Faestock at Deviant Art and fell in love with this girl sitting on a black sweep background. I was given permission to use her as reference and she became my Angel. I used pencil, ink, and photoshop to 80 lb. cold press paper and then pencil and chalk pastels to finish.

  • This beautiful lady is a pencil, ink and chalk pastel on a piece of watercolor/pastel paper. I have been working on her for a couple of months. I wanted to have her finished by my birthday this last Sunday, April 19th… so Saturday I called her FINISHED. I was experimenting on this piece with different layering techniques that I have used on a few of the other pieces that got uploaded here before her. This was so involved that I don’t know how many that I will do like this. But I am happy with her. She represents all of the women of the world who are now just ‘waking up’.

  • / Medium Size Print/Cherry Frame/Off White Matt Watercolour crayons, watercolour pencils, faber castell pencils, ink, acrylic, wax, gesso acrylic, chalk pastel, pen, charcoal on paper This began as a drawing while on holiday at an island resort, it’s one of those paintings that seemed to have a mind of it’s own, and wanted to be painted a certain way…even though I had different ideas, this is the end result. LOL I was originally going to colour her very gently with wax and soft pastels…but she became more and more vibrant as I went along. Perhaps the colouring says something of how vibrant we become when we are well rested, balanced and relaxed.

  • views: 863 / favs: 23 My origami calendar / / I feel my heart being pulled when we are not together, / Longing for the day we are with each other. / The thread between us will never break; / Our destinies are tied by the red string of fate. / / The red string of fate is based on a Chinese myth that the gods tie an invisible red string around the ankles of men and women destined to be soulmates. This myth is has been adapted into other east asian cultures as well. I first became familiar with it by watching anime; though in those cases, one would attempt to match up couples by tying their fingers. This image, while on one hand based on that Chinese legend, is one that defines me. With the red thread forming the heart, I frame what is currently my greatest passion: miniature origami. I fold using tweezers, and sometimes with needles (I show a needle here, though for these hearts I only used tweezers as they are not that small). The hearts of paper and string, while representing my passion, also represent my soul, and how my fate is bound by the constraints of life. I’m in my own little world bound by a thread of fate; though my passion lies in a world of paper. While most women primarily use needles for sowing; I primarily use them for tiny origami :P I would adjust the position of the objects here with tweezers, and sometimes got magnetic reactions between the tweezers and the needle. They say opposites attrack… but they are both metal :] Each heart was folded from a 15×15mm piece of paper. Taken with an Olympus FE-340. Great for Valentines day or as love letters, because you and your loved ones were destined by fate. For a better idea of scale: This work has been featured in: / Macro Photography / Inspired Art / All About Hearts / Color Me a Rainbow / Focus and Lighting / / / Also available at Zazzle / / / The Zazzle card consists of the little verse I wrote, but customers may customize it to have it removed or have their own personal messages written as well. • Sept 2009 / The three headed beast – past, present, and future. Graphite pencil drawing on Arches cold press watercolor paper

  • mixed media (acrylic, oil on acid free pre-printed scrapbooking paper)

  • This is a watercolor portrait of my daughter I did using my usual layering technique (demos here). I used a bit of gouache on the background. These days I am interested in adding patterns in my paintings, I also tried to be a little more loose with my handling of the watercolor, living some watercolor bloom on purpose on the tuque. / I used a hot press watercolor paper by Fabriano Artistico, 140 lb. 121 viewings on Dec 15 2009 Featured in the Art and Stories made for Children goup / Featured in the Mixed Media group

  • Original artwork also includes The Changing Face of Now No.1. / Watercolour on rag paper. 45×180cm. 2008 I have used the fluidity of watercolour to express a personal perception of self and others and the changing nature of how we relate. In a time when technology brings many alternative means of communication, I am trying to bring awareness to the universal human condition that is facial expression. By creating a progression of images, I explore the changing perception of personalities as they shift over time, in attitude or mood.
