Once again perfecting my skills at near death experiences LOL / Different view of Horseshoe Bend :) Bend in the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Lake Powell and Glen Canyon in Arizona, USA. This Really Isn’t one of those photos you can just take a quick glance at and think you’ve seen everything there is to see….you have to look at it slowly, take in the lines of the road, how the straight and steep upward road has been twisted and distorted by the cylindrical merging, the curve of the horizon that seems to mirror the edge of the road, the curves of the tidal swell in the bay…. and then the sky and the land far down… I took [link] this photo from the same location, but there was no indication of scale, which ruined it. But in this one you can get an idea… Look on the right, at the coastline, on the land you see the combined town’s of Somerset West, Strand and Gordon’s Bay. Now where the land meets the water, can you see the 40 storey tall apartment buildings? (these buildings? [link] ) NO? well good, then you start to realize the magnitude of the sky and the clouds in this photo… This is a panorama of 6 shots, merged in PSCS3, i boosted the vibrance and contrast, And another really nice thing i’ve come to discover is the blacks, a function of the RAW tool. I boosted that, saved them as PSD’s. merged the PSD’s. levels, curves, saturation. This was taken close to the top of the road leading up to the Steenbras dam water purification plant above Gordon’s bay, South Africa…. sorry about broken links….pasted this from da and rb’s link tag is too much trouble

Jokulsarlon is a glacial lake that meets the sea in Iceland. One of the most beautiful places i have been on our little planet Earth. The tragedy is that this beautiful photo would not be possible without global warming. When in a cafe at a petrol station i saw a postcard of Jokulsarlon. One single large iceberg floating in the centre. As you can see now the lake is full. Note: The size if this work was increased using Photoshop CS2. / Best size being around the 50cm wide.

/ . / Please view large photo to appreciate panorama fully / . / This is a panorama taken on the same night of my other photos “Luna Over Luna Park”, ““By Request””, and “Luna Harbours”. The photos were taken in quite quick succession. I attempted to combine the full moon, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park. You might be interested in viewing the other photos because one is in Portrait, two are in Landscape, and this one PANORAMA. It’s amazing how a similar subject can be photographed in slightly different ways, and produce different results. I will interested in knowing which of the four is you favourite !
