Mountain range off the road to Denali National Park, Alaska. The spectacular panoramic views were all around, and a clear view to Mt McKinley (not in photo) was well worth the drive. Being chased by a moose and seeing a brown bear from close range, from inside a bus luckily, added to an amazing trip in 2005. Featured in “Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams” – September 2009. Flying into the mountains in a ski-plane to land at the top of the Ruth Glacier in Denali National Park. The dark line that follows the curve of this river of ice is a medial moraine composed of rocks and sediment that have been compacted together as the ice continued to move down the mountain. The Great Gorge is reputed to be the tallest, steepest-sided gorge in the world – including the depth of the ice, which is about 3700 feet, and the visible mountainsides at about 5000 feet, it is about 8700 feet deep! Ohhh that sky …........ / This image was taken in the Snowy Mountains, Australia. The sky was amazing all day! Spectacular clouds rolling in. Brief bursts of sunlight. / I have stitched 3 photos together and slightly cropped the resulting image … adjusted contrast, shadows and colour slightly.
