  • yes, this is kinda where my heart belongs. I am not really a winter person, I prefere summer and hot temperatures, but when I am standing on a mountain and watch the beautiful panorama of the Alps, then I know that that’s exactly where I want to be. / then I come to realize that the place I live in really is a beautiful spot on earth and that you should savor every moment of it. btw, this is a six shots panorama and was taken on yesterday’s ski-tour up to Rauthhütte which is below the Hohe Munde mountain in Tirol, Austria. / the ski-tour was pretty easy, nothing special with only some 500m going up, but i chose this tour on purpose as I wanted to take some photos. exact location of the photo: / 47°20’42.32” N ; 11°06’19.21” E @ approx. 1.600m

  • This small grove of trees stood out against the slanting sun that stopped me in my tracks. The scene was there. The light was right. This is the result. / Enjoy a large mounted print of this photograph to enjoy the almost 15,000,000 pixels used to create it.

  • A PERSPECTIVE ABOUT OLD BARNS / He said,” you couldn’t get paint that beautiful”, for a new country home he’s building down the road. Only years of standing in the weather, bearing the storms and scorching sun, only that can produce beautiful barn wood. / It came to me then. We’re a lot like that, you and I. / Only it’s on the inside that the beauty grows with us. / Sure we turn silver gray too… and lean a bit more than we did when we were young and full of sap. / But the Good Lord knows what He’s doing. / And as the years pass He’s busy using the hard weather of our lives, / The dry spells and the stormy seasons do a job of beautifying our souls that nothing else can produce. / And to think how often folks holler because they want life easy!

  • This wonderful little icy creek, gently flowing through this gaping canyon, spoke volumes about it’s older cousin that had raged through here to cut this canyon eons ago. The scene was there. The light was right. I composed the photograph and took it. I hope you enjoy it, as it’s one of my favorites. / Enjoy a large mounted print of this photograph to enjoy the almost 15,000,000 pixels used to create it.

  • Getting to the top of Island Peak has been one of the most wonderful and awe inspiring adventures I’ve ever had the privilege of participating in. This supreme view of the Imja Drangka valley with it’s jewels of Ama Dablam, Tawoche and Island Peak, and the villages of Chukhung and Dingboche was literally breath-taking. With less than 50% atmosphere the climb was tough, but so so worh it. The panorama is a composite of 2 photos taken with a Canon 400D using a 17-85mm IS USM lens with circular polarising filter.

  • Mount Cook National Park in New Zealand’s South Island.

  • Craig’s Hut near Mt Stirling Victoria. This image was taken recently just before the snow season started. There is a small patch of snow visible. I hoped to get up there when there was a decent snow cover but we left it too late and it was too slippery to get through the last section of track. I’ll be getting up there again as soon as I can. Next year I will make sure I get there before the road closures.
