A calm morning on an eb tide at Milford sound…though this ambience was to change no less than 10minutes after this photograph was composed when the frequent westerly winds came in and the water chopped up losing all reflections.. / / This is an uncropped and unstitched photograph taken on Fuji Velvia slide film then digitally converted to B&W. Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F16, ISO100, shutter speed 1 to 1/4 seconds, edited in Photomatix tweaked in Photoshop Buttermere is a lake in the north-west of the English Lake District. It is 1¼ miles long (2 km) by ¼ mile (400 m) wide, and is 75 feet (23 m) deep. It has an elevation above sea level of 329 feet (100 m). A place of considerable scenic value, it is situated towards the head of the valley of the river Cocker and is surrounded by fells, notably the High Stile range to the southwest, Robinson to the northeast, Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks to the southeast and Grasmoor to the northwest.
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, ISO100, shutter speed 1/5 to 1 seconds, edited in Photomatix tweaked in Photoshop Once a single lake, Buttermere and Crummock Water are now separated by a green and fertile plain which is in marked contrast to the steep fell sides and tumbling waterfalls. Buttermere lake, set in its amphitheatre of mountains, is a tranquil scene, made more dramatic by the play of light and shade in the narrow valley. The low level walk round the lake is a delight, especially if it begins and ends in the hamlet of Buttermere itself,

Taken just before sunrise at Noora Salt interception basin located between Berri and Renmark in the Riverland of South Australia. The remains of river redgums in this area always create amazing reflective images. Nothing better than being just a stone throw from the mighty River Murray at sunup watching the shadows stretch as the sun breaks the horizon. Canon 400D 17 -8 lens with CIR Polariser. / F 4.0 / Focal length 17 / 1/1250th second.
