This small rock pool is found in Cabbage Tree Bay, along the pathway between Manly and Shelly Beach on Sydney’s northern beaches. The sculpture/statue is known as The Oceanids. This image was a 30 second exposure nearly an hour before sunrise with the pool wall and sculpture lit up by a nearby street light. This image has also won a photo of the week at photographer Steve Parish’s Photograph Australia website.

This photo was taken during a extreme low tide just after sunrise at Monkey Mia in Shark Bay Western Australia. You could walk out about 100 meters from the beach before you got to the water! The location of Monkey Mia is the only place on Western Australia where the sun rises over the ocean. / As you can see in this photo the sun has been blocked by the large cloud formation, but can be seen in the reflections off the wet sand. A 10 shot stitched panorama! Taken with my 20D And 17-40 f/4 L. Featured In: Australia! This image was taken @ Port Willunga at the remains of the old jetty. On a recent journey back to Port Willunga recently, I’d noticed that many of these posts had been burnt. A fun stunt at the time I suppose :( Best viewed on a black background. Images from Australia / Architecture / Images from Japan / Sunsets / Water Scenes
A few years ago, Mildura hosted the World Hot Air Balloon Championships. I headed up there for a few days to enjoy the event. Travelling with the competitors was great as I got to see how quickly they measured the weather conditions and set up their balloons. About 80 balloons were raised at about the same time, many of them side-by-side like this, in a rush to take advantage of the best wind conditions. Not only were they pushing against each other on the ground, but the balloons would also bump each other in the air, it was really an amazing sight.

/ . / Please view large photo to appreciate panorama fully / . / This is a panorama taken on the same night of my other photos “Luna Over Luna Park”, ““By Request””, and “Luna Harbours”. The photos were taken in quite quick succession. I attempted to combine the full moon, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park. You might be interested in viewing the other photos because one is in Portrait, two are in Landscape, and this one PANORAMA. It’s amazing how a similar subject can be photographed in slightly different ways, and produce different results. I will interested in knowing which of the four is you favourite !
