Best viewed larger. Hampi was the 14th century capital of Vijaynagar Empire which was ravaged, pillaged and plundered in 1565AD by the Mughal rulers. Hampi is in north Karnataka, 363kms from Bangalore. 50+ animal motifs on the wall panel. This is a listed monument. In 1986, UNESCO inscribed the group of monuments at Hampi as a World Heritage site.
