For this design I used the following things: dried banksia leaves for her wings / dried pandanus leaves for the dress / brown paper / white gesso / black pen / a bit of work in adobe photoshop

Camping on the Qld central coast one night I took the opportunity to do a star trail photograph on my Fuji 6×17 camera. Using a spotlight I delicately painted in the dune and Pandanus during this 5.5hr exposure. The long, tapered leaves of Richea pandanifolia flick free from the snow drift covering the plant. As the wind gets up, more leaves will emerge until the tip of the plant is free of snow …until it snows again.
