we were lucky enough to go up to the mezzanine floor at the church in Magné a town in the lovely Marais Poitevin region of the Poitou CharenteI love the round windows in churches (I love all stained glass but the round window always seems to be where I focus my attention!) grass head in the Autumn sunrise and the drops glisten from the nights rainfall. The same bike the same s/c but with the onions also – I couldn’t decide which one I prefered out of these and as Jason mentioned the onions on no.1 what else could I do!! Thanks Jason without your tutorial I would still be struggling because then of course hubby Rob worked it out before me so he wrote it down – and now – it’s a breeze but hard and time consuming! our lovely Ollie posin’ at just the right time as I clicked – he is fascinated by the camera at the best of times – but the beauty of not firing the flash and under tungsten lighting is that his eyes show without any horrid reflects! Ollie and Herbie (who has disappeared) 2 brothers one all black and our Ginger Ollie were brought home to me in a box one saturday morning – they were off to the river that afternoon unless we could find them a home! in S/C had to pop down to my parents to keep the fire going as they were out for the day and what did I spy sitting on the window ledge – a lovely Orchid which I adore and manage to kill not on purpose you understand, so took advantage of the situation (which was torrential rain outside and waiting for the fire to spark again) and using the window as my backdrop I took a few shots, it was horribly grey obviously outside which made light but not too bright! This is Chloe’s delightful Hammy Minnie (she sleeps in the lounge – in her cage of course! at night as she has the tendancy to eat the bars of the cage and generally do whatever it is that Hamsters do – not good when you have to rise at 5.30am though!) so now we get her clonking through our films and programmes but it’s worth it – she and Ollie have come to a recent understanding – he looks at her and she at him! Now just before we retire we pop a little treat in her house – at the moment it’s banana chips! Here she is waiting to see if anything will come out of the camera – I swear she is smiling! Chloe has yet to see this shot so this will be a nice surprise for her I think! I would prefer for the bowls not to be in the shot but to crop them out would mean losing so much of the photo – it’s reality shooting :) Taken with the Canon 400d with the Canon 50mm lens – no flash fired taken in the Tungsten light mode – slightly sharpened and noise removed in Paintshop due to the plastic of the cage! Hope she makes you smile :) Placed 1st in the “Playful Photogenic Pets group challenge / The other Pets Sept 09 / Featured in Pet Rodents 1st June ‘09 / Placed 2nd in the Pets are Us June Avatar Challenge 29th May 09 / Featured in Pets are Us 13th May ‘09* Thank you :))) / Featured in Funny Kritters Feb 14th 09 Thankyou we are all thrilled :))

We found a Poppy field the other day – we managed to get a little lost and we stopped for a look at the map and escaped the confines of the car to profit a little from the scenery and of course the Poppies….unfortunately most of them had finished flowering but I still found that the Poppy seed heads and the last remaining Poppies looked just as pretty. taken through a broken window – into the inside of this broken farm cottage! The light you see is the sun coming through the also broken roof!
