  • this has to be me my favourite photo I have taken to date – it is of my Godson (my best friends eldest son) and my other best friends baby daughter – they have never met before – this was taken when we all got together before they all went back to the UK and Ireland…..after this was taken the peace was forgotten about and it was photos of all the children and posed whereas this is just a memory of peace and happiness! • runs through our town and is pretty lovely most of the year but this particular misty december morning it just looked soft, pretty but cold! Le Chaboussant is one River that starts at a source at a trickle it travels through the valley at the bottom of our hamlet it goes through the town (my parents old house had the river running through their garden) and basically circles our whole town. Wells are still used from the river water but these days have pumps! The Folklorique dance group Les Chaboussants named themselves after this river. • taken in May around our friends village after our 2 hour long walk and many photo opps – this lovely cottage/barn is owned by a chap that has grown up in it, and farms still, he has just recently had electric, water and a phone installed – over the last 3 years – doucement, doucement!! Also until recently he still had earth flooring in the kitchen which as been remedied now – a very normal story around here! He also has many goats and shares some of the house with the chickens! This type of house is also known as a Charentaise Long House :) and sometimes the shutters are painted in the typical blue Charante colour! • our lovely Ollie posin’ at just the right time as I clicked – he is fascinated by the camera at the best of times – but the beauty of not firing the flash and under tungsten lighting is that his eyes show without any horrid reflects! Ollie and Herbie (who has disappeared) 2 brothers one all black and our Ginger Ollie were brought home to me in a box one saturday morning – they were off to the river that afternoon unless we could find them a home! This was 3 years ago – now look at that face – I am so glad we ended up with Ollie and Puss (we miss herbie) Canon eos 400d canon 50mm lens / as is straight from the camera Placed 8th in the Kitty Rescued Challenge in Street and Shelter Cats Group 7th May 09 / Featured in As Is 12th January 09 thank you :) / Featured in Domestic and Pedigree Cats 29 January 09

  • Ok so we may live in rural France but there are some places that really know how to cook up a storm and this is one of them – however it is not in our Department but in my In-laws Department the Charente…many nice restuarants around their area but I love this one because of it’s yummy food and it’s very picturesque…..so named after the great meteorite that landed in the area and made one very large indent in the countryside which became a valley…..... • in S/C had to pop down to my parents to keep the fire going as they were out for the day and what did I spy sitting on the window ledge – a lovely Orchid which I adore and manage to kill not on purpose you understand, so took advantage of the situation (which was torrential rain outside and waiting for the fire to spark again) and using the window as my backdrop I took a few shots, it was horribly grey obviously outside which made light but not too bright! Featured in That one Great Shot Group 23 January 09 / Featured in Stillness Speaks 9th February 09 Canon eos 400d with Canon 50mm 1/1.8 II lens / ISO 100 / F/1.8 / 1/30 secondes / no flash fired / natural light from window

  • From August – September we have fields of gold surrounding us right through to the dead heads last year until the beginning of december! The seeds are a great income to our local farmers, that and Rape so we really are more yellow than green most of the year :) This photo was taken near my friends house in Messé just outside of St.Soline Canon 350d / 33mm focal / f/14 / 1/320 seconds / iso 400 Desaturated image and layered using paintshop pro 12 fiddly stuff this one – thought it was going to be easy!!

  • taken in Spring (May) of last year one of the beautiful daisies in the garden – this was taken in manual and I have tweaked it sligthly using a nighttime filter just to give the background a different colour. • Pamela , is a gal I met here on Redbubble.. you know when you just come from two entirely different worlds.. shes tall.. im short.. she lives in the rural mountains, I live in the flat city . she can tell a story .. I can gawk at the story .. she sees an animal and can go back and recognize that same animal and tell you its love life sorta.. she finds things no one else finds in the middle of nowhere.. I think she drives a few counties in one day to get her amazing shots. I can spill the beans of how much she means to me.. but she would get embarrassed.. go check her out / Pamela these shots are hers… and I placed them in this collage.. and this represents just some of her wonders she finds in her beautiful New York State USA / and when she saw this collage.. I asked if she would add something .. she added these words Down in the valley, along Pucky Doodle lane; / A quiet farm sat, sheltered from the rains. / Not far away, a Proud Mary wheel sits by a tree; / A wheel of the past, that worked hard for you and me. / The wheel went round and round, pulling wagons filled with wood; / From forests and the marshlands, just how a wagon should. / Those days are gone, the farm sleeps now in a silent vale; / And the wagon wheel now rests, against a tree down in the dale. / The old trees that still stand, those that still remain; / Reminds us all of yesterday, times not lived again!
