I thought these two rice paper butterflies looked like they were in conversation, enjoying each other’s company. That’s what triggered the idea for a “thanks for the hospitality” card. It seems so bright and cheerful, like all good friendships are.

This little guy reminds me of a little squirrel I caught and raised when I was ten years old. His name was BeeBee and he was fast. I was on my way home from school and BeeBee ran across my path. I dropped my books and pursued him. He ducked into a small pit and curled up in a ball. I picked him and took him home and tamed him. He had free run of the house and came and went when he pleased. The whole family loved him. So I could not resist this capture… If you would like to read a poem about my pet squirrel BeeBee you will find it here All content & images are ©amari, ©amarica. These two butterflies were sharing a piece of fruit side by side. I thought the photo would make a nice card for anyone who wants to correspond with a life-time pal. The larger butterfly is a Blue Morpho Owl, but I can’t identify the tiny tattered one.

Lots of nonsense to go over this week so maybe I should get started, keep it short and save all of us some time as I have no doubt that many of you have better things to do than read my endless, needlessly wordy nonsense, right? Of course I’m right. It’s just like I tell my wife, “I’m always right, all of the time, get used to it.” This statement usually ends with me in the fetal position on the floor after being punched in the stomach. I don’t bother to get up because I’d be spending the rest of the night there anyway. ;) Okay, first up my online pal and creepy sometimes stalker Rhana Griffin dedicated an entire journal entry to me. (See…I told you she was a stalker). It’s aptly titled Steven Novak is a Douchebag (A name that believe it or not, I suggested). Feel free to have a read, and stay to take a look at her photography as well because she’s pretty good. (Ohhh man it hurt to type that. Hurt bad. Hurt like the aftermath of my vasectomy bad.) Next up I made another T-Shirt sale this morning to yet another mystery buyer. To whoever purchased The Blood Lusting Blocko, I’d like to shake your hand. It’s sweaty. There’s some paint on it. I might squeeze a little too hard in a pathetic attempt to seem more “manly,” but I’d like to shake it nonetheless. Thank you! Lastly, in one of the most pathetic happenings since Paris Hilton tried to record an album a couple weeks ago I purchased one of my own shirts. I really just wanted to see the quality of the printing (which I found to be pretty good) but I will no doubt wear it around town like a jerk hoping beyond hope that someone asks me, “Hey, where’d you get that shirt?” I’ll chuckle happily under my breath and reply “I made it.” To which they will respond with, “Cool, you’re awesome.” Which will prompt me to say, “Yes, I know.” ;) Anyway, here’s a lame picture of me in the shirt. (Which takes the lameness of buying it to exciting, new levels of lame). Steve~

Here’s one for all you animal lovers…Calender shot if ever I saw one. / To get the cat to co-operate, I first tried poking a sleeping tablet down, do not recomend it, as puncture wounds on the index (shutter) finger are very debilitating to an aspiring young art photgrapher, throws the timing out. So I had to resort to a judicially applied sock full of marbles, after several clean ups of the room, had to make it a double sock. / With a now suitably co-operative feline, I had to work fast, as they really do seem to have 9 lives, kept waking up, lose so many ducklings that way, and that sock got a work out, super glue works wonders on keeping eyelids at least partially open. / Alot of effort, however I think you’ll agree, the results are well worth it…............... / Now….to the puppies and baby wabbit….....Soooooo cute.
