Palm Silhouettes / Sunset Christmas Day on Maui The Adventurer “Dusk on the sea; the fading twilight shifts / The night wind bears the ocean’s whisper dim wind, on your bosom many a phantom drifts - A silver star climbs up the blue world rim. / Wind, make the green leaves dance above me here And idly swing my silken hammock – so; / Now, on that glimmering molten silver mere / Send the long ripples wavering to and fro. / And let your moon-white tresses touch my face And let me know your slim-armed, cool embrace While to my dreamy soul you whisper low. With all the bazillions of sunset images.. I still find myself trying to capture the beauty of each new one I see. To me they are romantic, calming and one of natures finest works of art. This one I took in Mexico somewhere along the west coast. Pulled off the road and sat awhile to admire & dream as the sun melted into the sea. Nikon D60 55/200 / Mexico 2009

I was excited again this afternoon as the storms approached from the west. My brother and I raced to the lookout over Sunshine Beach in the Noosa National Park. As fast as they formed, they dissipated, leaving what was to be a beautiful sky in the sunset. I took the time to get to the hidden beach again as the now weak storm cell passed overhead. WOW I was in nature heaven, and I’m so happy I made the effort this afternoon to get to this spot. It’s so wild, untamed and serene. It wasn’t long before the usual eagles soared overhead. You don’t get many other birds here for some reason. Noosa Hidden Beach (not official name, un-named beach), Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 2x stitched horizontal 16mm shots. 180 degrees field of view. Actual print size is over 3 metres high :) Best viewed Large of course.
