  • Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Chilli Beach, Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland. Chilli Beach is wide and long and fringed with palms – a truly magical spot overlooking Restoration Island, Capt Bligh’s first landing place in 1792. They might say the best time to visit the Cape is May through to October, but I can imagine that the roads would be in very poor condition by August. When we went in May they were just grading the roads preparing for the onset on tourists that visit the Cape. 4WD vehicles only!! Be prepared for corrugations and slow down on those corners – you just might come across a family of wild pigs as we did, luckily we weren’t going fast!! 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of “Chilli Beach” will be donated to “thegreataustraliancancerbushwalk” for the Cancer Council. • one of the new desert drawings series . In the old days in the Arabian Gulf , people used to make their homes and their household from palm trees , as you see here the wife would weave the dry strands of palm leaves together to create what they need , mats to set on , baskets, food cover, dinning mats” the round thing behind her ” used on the floor as a dinning table, also the walls of the home made of the branches of the palm tree. / they also colored some of the strands with natural dyes. This is what the palm leaves weaving looks like . /

  • Sales of this design so far – 1 sale / / / Summer Heat is a mixed media production on Canson Me-Teintes textured pastel/mixed media paper…. being December in Australia we are experiencing some very warm weather, today the beach was at it’s most gorgeous, this painting is inspired by the sultry salty warm days by the beach we love at this time of year, and the beautiful hues of the water when it’s still like a milk pond as it was this morning :) In the background is an icecream van set up by the beach, which has caught the little one’s eye and she’s waving to the vendor. I’ve used pastels and charcoal, both white and black varieties, as well as pencil and black Faber Castelle markers The original work is available unframed for $220, but it is not so bright and in softer hues… this piece has been enhanced a bit in photoshop

  • Another one of the shots from the day at Port Melbourne beach. This depicts the scene I would picture in my head whenever I was in a place I didn’t want to be. More often than not, school. More specifically, maths class. I wasn’t built for a classroom, being force fed instructions and problematic things that needed solving. It was always about the freedom of creation to me. So I would sit in class and think about anywhere other than where I was. It’s such a vivid memory, despite being 15 years ago. Featured in JPG Cast Offs Crop of original shot, level tweaking to adjust tone. No other processing on this one. See here for instructions on how to create this image. Canon 50D / 18 – 55, 58mm / Macro filter / f8, 1/200, ISO 100 / Ansco Rediflex / Home Made Dark Box MCN: CFBJY-HSVRC-1DSTK

  • I was excited again this afternoon as the storms approached from the west. My brother and I raced to the lookout over Sunshine Beach in the Noosa National Park. As fast as they formed, they dissipated, leaving what was to be a beautiful sky in the sunset. I took the time to get to the hidden beach again as the now weak storm cell passed overhead. WOW I was in nature heaven, and I’m so happy I made the effort this afternoon to get to this spot. It’s so wild, untamed and serene. It wasn’t long before the usual eagles soared overhead. You don’t get many other birds here for some reason. Noosa Hidden Beach (not official name, un-named beach), Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 2x stitched horizontal 16mm shots. 180 degrees field of view. Actual print size is over 3 metres high :) Best viewed Large of course.

  • Exploring the Noosa National Park along it’s coastline, is just full of hidden treasures. Eye candy, especially in the falling light of sunset.. This shot taken the same day as Noosa’s Serenity where a depleted storm cell was passing overhead. My Brother is not much of a nature buff, who admited it was spectacular sight, and glad he came with me. He is on the point, to the far right of the photo. Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 16mm, 16:9 crop. Available very large, and best viewed Large!
