Angel and Iris (left and right respectively) are mother and daughter. They have a pretty tight bond and I sat in the pasture (rain soaked) for about 3 hours waiting to catch this opportunity! For fun, I have also posted a picture of Iris eating my tripod while I was changing lens! /

I did this picture for the pure pleasure of drawing what I think is the perfect arabian. / Colour pencil, white gouache and black ink on grey mount board. Can’t remember the size, think it was about 44cm x 66cm. 1998. Sold

Same palamino up close… :)

another one of my students’ drawings. She brought this in to add to the “Wall of Fame” I have, with their photo that’s been photoshopped by me. I think she likes horses… :)

Isabella is one of my students and this is a picture of her horse. Obviously in real life it doesn’t have wings! She loves horses almost as much as her dogs. / ~ / When I’m teaching her, I often have to steer the conversation back to maths-what would you rather talk about? your favourite pet or maths?! (what would you want your daughter talking about, when paying for her lesson? hmmm. I have to balance!!) At least I can put her picture on the wall, or t-shirt! and enjoy her passion

I have admired this palamino appaloosa for years and was lucky enough to be on my way to photographing a dog agility trial one evening when the horses were close to the fence. I stopped the car and ran over to grab a few shots, and was please that they all came over to say hello. There are a few others in this series, so stay tuned for more:)
