The original artwork is done in acrylic on stretched canvas. This was painted on a cold windy winter night a few years ago, and I wanted to paint something that will warm me up. What better way than a nice cosy blanket with swirls and colours! Enjoy!
Something a little quirky from Kiwi Land. This was a painting of 4 kiwi birds (plus 1 in belly) that I did about 2 years ago for a charity auction in New Zealand. Enjoy!

This image came about in an awesome way for me. Two weeks earlier, the model, Margrit, was telling me a bit about her life. She’s lived and travelled in many countries and taken lots of opportunities. She has also achieved great success with her photography. Several weeks later, I had an unusual chance to photograph her in an old train – the perfect location to reflect her life’s journey. / In Australia, Margrit has achieved her LAPS and AAPS, and is the only West Australian women to received international photographic honours AFIAP. She’s a perfectionist and it shines through in her work. The sun has a rendez-vous with the moon / But the moon isn’t there / And the sun is waiting for her The moon is there / The moon is there but the sun doesn’t see her / To find her it must be night / It must be night but the sun doesn’t know / And keeps on shining The sun has a rendez-vous with the moon / But the moon isn’t there / And the sun is waiting for her Hapiness is a fickle star / That runs to the call of many rendez-vous / It fades away and dies before us / When you think it’s far away / It’s there right next to you The sun has a rendez-vous with the moon / But the moon isn’t there / And the sun is waiting for her
Watercolor and pencil on illustration board, / 10×8 / 2009 Model: Adhara Batul One of the Greek myths I adore the most, for its incredible strength, poetry and significance, is the myth of Persephone. In Greek mythology, Persephone was the goddess of the underworld and of the Spring growth. Daughter of Demeter, goddess of the harvest, she was abducted by Hades and taken to the land of the dead. By a determination of the Fates, she was forced to stay for two seasons each year after eating pomegranates seeds, thus becoming consort of Hades and queen of the underworld. This time I opted by depicting her sorrow and solitude after having the seeds, although there’s quite an air of resignation with her destiny.
These are actually not poplar trees but the nesting colonies of the sociable weavers in the Kalahari desert. The weaver birds build their nests in high trees or in this case man made poles. The nesting material is harvested by local farmers to be sold as an industrial fire retardant and gets it’s color from the nearby Red dunes This image shows a detail. oil on canvas / 120×80 cm / original sold
