gouache on paper. Crazy Santa. Who’s been naughty, who’s been nice?
If you’ve enjoyed my cats then why not share this little character with your family and friends this Christmas. They’re sure to love him and you’ll give them a smile for the Holiday season. / Acrylic on Canvas, Digitally added text, 18×24cm, October 2005 / NOTE: This artwork includes a unique ‘texture’ that is created by the canvas support surface. The original artwork is quite small and therefore when this work was scanned the scanner was able to pick up the surface texture of the canvas. My other artworks are all created on the same surface as this however due to their larger size, they are photographed from a distance, thus surface detail of the canvas is usually too small to pick up.

Santa had promised Mrs Claws that he would stop and take a cloud nap, at the first sign of fatigue, but that thought was far from his mind, when he was snapped back in his seat, then ripped forward as Rudolf increased power to overcome what he guessed must be turbulence drag. Poor Santa’s eyes literally popped out of his head with the sudden deceleration. Luckily he had modified his body, with a little off season genetic tinkering to cope with just this sort of eventuality. He had not survived for thousands of years without learning some very useful survival techniques along the way. He grinned at the image it must have presented, as his eyes recoiled and plopped back safely into their sockets. The presents were pulled slowly back into the sleigh, as the GPSS (Global Positioning Santa System) combined effectively with the microscopic magnetic linkers, built into the wrapping paper of the spilt gifts. He continued merrily on his way with no ill effects, save a slight twinge of conscience, knowing that the residents of Tjikavik would be without power on Christmas Eve. Well, the power lines weren’t there last year, he thought and he always like to do a low, high speed , fly past over the little hamlet. “Happy Christmas!” he yelled, in an attempt to make up for the power cut. Most of the windows in the tiny town shattered instantly with the sonic boom. He sped off, making a mental note to have a few words with the elf in charge of his Voice Magnifier.
My cats, Duke and Daisey just loved lounging under the Christmas tree last year. Duke loved climbing in the tree, too! LOL!
HDR image of a Steinway Piano at a friends’ home. She’s quite an accomplished artist herself, she painted the images behind the piano in Tuscany Italy. I’m looking for a good title for this image, this piano hasn’t been played in years. If you can think of a title that jumps out at you, I’d appreciate you posting it for me. Thanks. steve like this one (bodymechanic). I will hang it in the next Gallery 26 show. It’s very textured, layered, and it has sparkles.
Remember the Meaning – Christmas Card & Fine Art Print / Christmas Prints / Greeting Card Gallery This image is actually a design I created and handpainted with acrylics on masonite a few years ago. I did a few prints up for family Christmas gifts and included matching greeting cards. I never did sell the original (couldn’t part with it) and hang it on my wall every Christmas. Santa’s eyes look like a young childs as the inspiration came from my son. The white doves have a spiritual meaning & symbolize how I view Christmas and how I think it should be…to Remember the True Meaning and what this special holiday is all about. My primary interest has now turned to photography but once my children are a little older I hope to get back into designing & creating again. / / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

Other Collectibles in Children of the World Series / / / / My latest brown paper creation for the “Children of the World” series is the little eskimo “Snow Flower” – she has a little bubba attached to her back…..a string bag slung over one shoulder with her sled – it’s snowing flowers of course. She’s perfect for Christmas is you want to send a little sweetness to a special someone and I’ll be uploading 2 other versions soon, without the Christmas greeting, because these are collectibles for “Children of the World” series as well, and not only Christmas designs. / / / / /

Digital finger painting (with a mouse), completed through the wee small hours. I’m having trouble sleeping, too many images in my head. Even when I’m asleep, I’m drawing in my dreams. I’m having so much fun experimenting with digital, it’s a new medium for me and I just love it. FEATURED in ‘Creative Cards’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Lifeline’ August, 2009 /

This is a special request of images chosen from my Asia Series for a friend of mine on RedBubble :) Front cover image Legend of Little Geisha / art and story by K Taylor (4/09) / .....in the village of Ishekawa by the Sea of Japan lived a poor couple who wove and carved for a living. The couple had no real possessions but were content with the beauty of the mountains and the sea surrounding them, and happy to be together. The only thing they wished for and did not yet have, was a child to call their own. One day, an ancient crone visited their home and as always, the couple offered their hospitality, gave her rice cakes and sake to warm her belly. The old crone, in return for their kindness, bestowed upon the couple the ability to have a girl child. The child grew from a seed into a strong and beautiful young woman, glowing with pride and joy, she was the delight of Ishekawa by the Sea of Japan, and many young suitors came to visit and pay her homage. But as is the way with old crones, you can never quite trust them to do you a favour without some twist in the tale. Unfortunately, the seed from which the child grew, began to sprout roots, and she was bound to the earth. In time the beautiful young girl became a majestic tree and all the birds from near and far came to perch and nest in her branches, she gave them shelter from the wind and rain, and everyone who knew the legend realised the tree was actually the Little Geisha…. the end
