This is an oil painting I did the day of my wedding. It was a class I was taking and the instructor knew I was getting married that afternoon. So he had the class paint as fast as they could, he said it will come out better then spending a lot of time on it. Well, he was right! All the paintings in the class turned out so beautiful and it took us 2 hours and I was off at noon to get ready for my wedding. This was the happiest day of my life! We were married in the little church in the Garden of the Gods. The most beautiful place on the earth. When I brought my painting home my husband was amazed and loved the picture. To this day we cherish this picture the most. It was in July and the flowers were blooming and there in the back drop was Pikes Peak covered with snow. An acrylic painting I did in 2002. In certain lights it looked almost as though it would swim right out of the pic and into the room :) I used an airbrush, for the first time to get the light beams effect. He is a Johannesburg zoo polar bear in real life, or should that be “unreal” :( Climate Change has already made huge inroads into their habitat…

There has been one sale of this image. In November 2008 this image was featured in the group, Buyers R Us. In February 2009, this image placed third in the U.S. Parks Wildlife Shots challenge hosted by the AMERICA’s National Parks and WILDLIFE Habitat group. A thousand Yellowstone wonders are calling, ‘Look up and down and round about you! John Muir – 1898 The temperatures were in the single digits on this cold, snowy January morning at West Thumb Geyser Basin, which is one of the smallest geyser basins in Yellowstone. A incredibly scenic area along the shore of Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb only has a small amount of geyser activity. However, the basin more than makes up for it with its diversity. Despite its small size, it has paint/mud pots, hot springs, pools, lake shore geysers, and fumaroles. Fumaroles are small openings that release steam and other gasses. You can see in the foreground the muddy, soupy waters inundating the paint pots. The white area beyond the tree line in the right hand side of the photograph is Yellowstone Lake. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please don’t copy or download this image. The main stencil image is one layer of the four layer stencil I created in early 2008 inspired by my interest in fashion photography. ‘Snow and Umbrella’ is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. Best viewed larger Featured in Snow Glorious Snow October 19, 2009. An adorable little Black Capped Chickadee perched on my deck railing, braving the snow and ice on a February afternoon in 2008. I named this image in honor of my friend, Renee Dawson who loves Black capped Chickadees dearly, and who also coined the phrase. Her chickadee images are beyond compare!!! I just thought this little guy looked a bit “kerflustered” on this cold winter’s day!! Image taken with the Nikon D40x and the 55-200mm vr Nikon lens at 190mm focal length. Shutter 1/320, aperture f/5.6, exp. 0.00, iso 800. I hand-painted the entire bird in Corel Paint 11 and created and added the snow layer in Photoshop. Texture layer from Skeletal Mess at Deviant Art added in Photoshop. The following information is from What Bird.com Overview / Black-capped Chickadee: Medium-sized, stocky chickadee with pale gray upperparts and breast and pale olive-brown underparts. The black cap and bib and white cheeks are conspicuous. Black bill is short and thin. Wings are dark with broad white edges on feathers. 220 views so far..this was our Pub ‘The Langley Wherry Inn’ Norfolk UK, we used to run & had lots of fun lol! ..it’s an11th century coaching Inn & the Abbey across the way has 14 Knights buried upside down in the grounds(apparently they buried them like that so they were ready?) ...anyway there was an old tale of a tunnel from the pub to the abbey the smugglers used from the Dyke off of the river Yare…well I never found it but know there were plenty of ghosts woohoo lol! watercolour/gouache on hot pressed paper …original is sold. ... .. ...

I haven’t done a Christmas themed painting since I was a child. It brought back some great memories. I love Christmas and all the magic it holds. I tried to capture that in this painting. These are three elves bringing a choice tree back to Santa’s village. They happen to be passing through snowman valley at this point. I chose the tree to have Christmas lights, even though there is no power to the tree. I felt it added more magic to the scene. And in my North pole….... That is how tree’s grow.
