This is why I’m not a photographer… I couldn’t take a non-blurry photo of myself if my life depended on it. With the paint brushes, that is. You see, I try to use these delicate, wee paint brushes and get all this detail out of them and it ends up just going all smudgy and stupid looking. Right, well, that’s the pessimist part of me talking. Anyway, sometimes things turn out looking good, but, not how I was trying to make them look. I’m just not a small brush person, that’s all. I’m a big canvas person. I need big canvases and big bushes! Then, the details will be small in the wee small prints, simply because they’ve been shrunk down. But, I haven’t the right sort of hands for wee tiny details except with pens and pencils, sometimes. I think! Here is where else I’ve been going wrong. I have thoughts in my head, often, that I ignre because i haven’t got the money, or the time, or the talent (maybe) to pursue them. Well, not the talent- the thought processes. The know-how of tecnical aspects. Things that stand out in my mind, that are half sculpture, half painting – or weird little objects sticking out of walls as 3-D modern abstract-realism thngies. ..or .. or .. well, never you mind! The point is, I have to do at least some of it I have to make something more than what I’ve been doing, something that is MINE. And, then, I have to stop people from abusing it , and dogs from peeing on it. lol

Many people have commented about my religious works (mostly) somehow looking like me. Even my two teenage girls said the same thing and were quite amazed by it as they know that I do not do this purposely. Then our wonderful Master Painter himself, Hidemi, keeps seeing the same thing so here’s what I did with my latest painting. For some reason I felt compelled to cover the lower half of the face of Jesus and was spooked to see myself! God did say that we were made in His image but wow, this is something else! lol

First I would like to take this opportunity to once more thank all those who support me and my work with your wonderful comments each and every day…it is such a fantastic morale boost…feedback on my written work is really valuable as it helps me to decide which articles resonate the most….it is also extremely gratifying that group hosts continue to feature my paintings… / To all those who are new to my work and who have placed me on their watch list, I am now configuring my gallery in a different way…the overview page now reflects the colours of fall, as that season is current where I live…you will see paintings that reflect the season, showing the colours and related themes of fall, but you will also see work that simply echo the wonderful range of gold orange and yellow shades that is autumn…work that you may not have seen before are now grouped together with new work and will be changed frequently… as a result the overview page will often show some surprising combinations…. / So from now on the first few art pages will be themed….that means new work may not always show at the top of the overview page, though I will try to keep them there as much as possible...
