2007 Acrylic on canvas 24×18 “Girl on Beach” is an original, signed acrylic painting on canvas by artist Michael Arnold. This is another painting with my wife as the subject. I created this paint by mixing the colors right on the canvas spreading them about using various size palette knives. My wife was painted in using a brush. I love the way the thick application of paint adds to the depth and vibrancy of the painting. / Michael Arnold Art
2006 Graphite on paper 18×24 Flying the Coop is an original 18×24, graphite pencil drawing, matted and framed by artist Michael Arnold. The drawing’s inspiration was from a montage I created using cutout magazine ads. I wanted to merge indoor and outdoor elements with the man in the drawing caught in mid leap between the two. This drawing was one of my first efforts after deciding to take my art more seriously. Picture includes matting for a total size of 24×36 / Michael Arnold Art
2007 Acrylic on canvas 24×30 “Girl in Brown and Gold” is an original, signed acrylic painting on a / gallery-wrapped canvas by artist Michael Arnold. I took the reference photos for this abstraction of Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach while on vacation there in May 2008. Daytona is an interesting town. On the west side of Atlantic, the buildings are single story built in the art deco style of the time they were created before high-rise hotels blocked the view of the ocean. / Michael Arnold Art

This is one part of an original painting on three canvases. Paint layering process is used in these paintings to create many layers and depths of texture. Colors in this painting include: green, gold and brown. **This was the first painting I created after my son was born, so I thought it fitting to name it after him: Jackson. It had been almost a year since I picked up a paintbrush because I devoted all of my time to him (please see me story in my bio). It is a piece inspired not by emotional pain but inspired truly by healing. After several years of emotional anguish due to my inability to conceive and after years of healing that pain through painting and ultimately giving birth to my beautiful son, I was finally able to paint with a fresh perspective. A blissful perspective brought on by three things… painting, time and the miracle of life!
This was a commissioned piece for my aunt Carolle.
