A revised version of my ‘Middlesbrough Drops’ watercolour painting. The coal drops on the river Tees estuary, in the 1830’s. / In the foreground, is the Tees river ferry – which in those days, was a small, rowing boat. I love the daunting and weird, distant grey structures, ready to drop the coal upon the collier (coal) ships. My version of a Thomas Harrison Hair, 1837 watercolour. Watercolour and HB pencil.
These are the hills behind my place. Typical for this area. I just added the horses, although dairy cows is what you see around here. / Colour pencil on mount board. Size approx – A4 2003 Sold Has been featured in ‘Colour Pencil Art’ and ‘Pencil Drawing’ groups.

Sure, the bird was interesting, but he really should have paid more attention to what was coming up behind him. Unfortunately for Willie “The Birdman” Whiters, it would be the last mistake he would ever make. I just finished this one up last night. Overall, I’m fairly pleased with it.
This is for my sister Michelle’s birthday. \ / My idea of a holy picture, like the ones we used to have when we were little with a contemporary feel to it. St Agnes of Rome (c. 291 – c.304 virgin–martyr) is often depicted carrying a little lamb. She is the patron saint of chastity, gardeners, girls, engaged couples, rape victims, and virgins. Read more about her here in Wikepedia and more in my recent journal here the poem The Eve of St Agnes by John Keats (thanx to izzybeth for reminding me of it to include here)
