The sunset represents the sunset at the end of your life. The missing / pieces represent the experiences not yet completed, and at that age / you are a wreck. This oil painting was created Aug.15 1993. I lightnened the centre / slightly and added a couple extra puzzle pieces after croppin it a bit.

Made as a gift for Laura (my cousin) to give her yoga teacher. Yes, you may recognise this from the Yoga centre in Newtown. This, or the other three that are a series. Inspired by henna designs and Indian fabric, as well containing every colour of the chakra system.

This Is The Print Version Of My Work Acrylic on canvas The first painting in the series is a key Unlock Your Destiny it is symbolic of unlocking your destiny. The door in this series is symbolic of your future. I saw this piece in a dream and made it a reality. It speaks to me of where you must go and what lies ahead if you have the key to it… The French words painted in the background translate: You Will Go Very Far. Synthetic polymer paint and newspaper collage on paper. From a series documenting friends who have died from HIV/AIDS related illnesses. Eric was diagnosed with an aggressive and termimal brain tumour, a cancer associated with AIDS. Cytomegolavirus was also eating one of Eric’s eyeballs, and he had to wear an eyepatch. Eric used to be in the merchant navy, with his eyepatch and rollicking gait from years of being at sea we used to call him The Pirate, which he loved. / The doctor gave Eric 3 months to live because of the tumour, and we’d have a coffee and laugh at the absurdity of life. / On the very day when 3 months were up Eric stepped out on to the road, and unable to see properly due to his eyepatch was struck down by a car.

Acrylic paint on canvas board / 18”X18’ In a worldly context this painting could be seen as a mother guiding, nuturing and protecting her young child. The doorway represents the transition from childhood into independance. From a symbolic angle I see this work as depicting the place where all the dimensions are in sync. / The dark, the light, the past ,present and future, this side of the doorway and the otherside meet in a balanced and lucid connectivity.

subject: This drawing was inspired by a dream I had a few nights ago, in which I was walking through a park at night and came across a naked man sleeping under a maple tree. There was more to the dream than I’ve drawn, but the key symbols and their meanings according to dreammoods.com are as follows. NIGHT: To have a dream that takes place at night, represents some major setbacks and obstacles in achieving your goals. There are some issues in your life that you are facing that are not too clear. You should put the issues aside so you can clear your head before coming back to it. PARK: To dream that you are at a park, represents a temporary escape from reality. It indicates renewal, meditation, and spirituality. It is also an indication of a readjustment period after a serious personal conflict or an ending of a passionate affair. MAPLE TREE: Balance, promise, practicality. NAKED MAN: If seeing a naked person in your dream disgusts you, it might signify anxiety about discovering the naked truth about that person or situation. It may also foretell of an illicit love affairs, loss of prestige and scandalous activities. On the other hand, if you do not have any problem with another’s nudity, then it implies that you see through people and accept them for who and what they are. SLEEP: To see others sleeping, is often a reflection of yourself and your own unconscious mind. It is indicative of how you may not be alert or informed about a particular situation. It may also beckon renewal and new beginnings. It’s sort of funny to me the myriad ways life manifests itself. As whole organic entities, a rose bush is entirely different than a human being, although both are living beings. A part of that bush and a part of that person are no exceptions; those parts also conjure entirely different reactions upon viewing them. A single rose is a lovely thing, a symbol, a gift. A human ear is a grotesque and ugly object when seperated from it’s body…. Original work is 12”x24”, acrylic on masonite.
