When my children were toddlers I would take them camping in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We’d always visit this one expanse of the Pigeon River where it was fairly tame. It had a lot of fabulous rock arrangements woven into the flow of the water and when I stumbled onto this little waterfall, I knew I wanted to paint it. Oils (16×20 inches) original sold A painting depicting Ireland in days past. Autumn in Ireland and the man is returning home with his cart of peat. This is an old painting I did several years ago, entirely from my imagination. We still use peat (turf) in Ireland and love the smell wafting through the air during the long, cold winters. Every year, at about this time, on country roads in County Clare, you will most likely slow down to a snail’s pace as you drive behind an ancient tractor (with an even more ancient driver… :-) ) loaded with peat. When the load is brought to your home, be prepared for a few hours of hard, back-breaking work as the huge load of peat must be stacked neatly in a pile. Nothing beats cooking on the old range and the warmth spreads through the house and food tastes so much better. The kitchen is the best place to be on a cold day!

I have never seen this more true than my own life. As everyday I soften my thinking to better feeling thoughts I experience new vista’s to guide me towards that which I am becoming and that which I desire. Today has been such an easy day full of butterfly vibrations and lovely sounds and visions and YOU! xox

This painting is watercolour on stretched Saunders cold pressed medium, 600gsm paper. / The paint is all transparent Windsor and Newton watercolour. / I have used Windsor and Newton Masking fluid for the ripples. This is a new activity for me, a sort of “off shoot” from the boats and water, I thought I would have a go at just water this time.
