This was painted on mattboard using acrylic paint and its a part of my search for who i really am i guess, i did this last year, just slapped paint on with no real intent or plan , i suffer from depression and when i feel good its very very good and when its bad its horrid ….... / there has been a lot of talk here and in personal conversations about the journey of self discovery so i dug this out and added a border and some lighting on the computer before signing it and posting it here …. Dedicated to all artists who struggle within and somehow manage to survive and keep doing what they love …. acrylic on canvas / slightly altered in ps this piece was not so easy to do, i had to dig into my mind, into parts shut off shut down blocked off but always there… / this is a glimpse into how i came to be who i am today. Theres a story to this / based on true events / tho i’ve never understood it / it has never made sense / how one who was given all of my trust / all of my love and all of my lust / crushed it and twisted me / til there was nothing much left / broken and bruised / and living regret / These were my dark days / my youth mispent / when my heart belonged to a monster / and my shattered soul wept / Years went by in this madness / why i cannot say / but this event depicted here / was the beginning of the end of my dark days / he tried to put out the light that i am / he attempted to end it all / but that fate was not the fate meant for me / and somehow i survived the fall Domestic abuse happens everywhere, both in seen and unseen places, / it isnt somethin only depicted on tv, its real and its happening. / and not just to those you’ll never meet / one day it mite happen to you / or someone you love / one way we can help fight this injustice / is awareness, education, resources and aide for those in need. / Intolerance of abuse against women, children, even some men…, of any nature, is needed to break the cycles of abuse and neglect. / We need more Resources. Barack Obama is 2008’s “Person of the Year” as declared by TIME Magazine. I think it’s amazing that we were all able to witness history in the making with him winning the 2008 Election. I decided to do a series of Obama portraits in recognition of his achievements.

Was able to find time to flesh out the Sledge Head concept. Completed this on a piece of cabinet door. Ink and acrylic (my favorites) This is part of the Drop to Zero merchandise but here’s what made me create such a piece. I feel sometimes like what is going on in my head never has the chance to see the light of our reality. Thoughts, emotions, fears and dreams stay locked away due to the fear that what comes out may be rejected by oneself or by the masses. So instead of risking such humiliation, we tuck it farther back into our pysche, and surround it in concrete. Well I have grown tired of holding back my feelings and ideas, and I am prepared to smash every brick and chip away at every stone until every creepy, useless, pointless, and ugly thought or idea pours out from the darkness.
