Hidden Woman

Where it can feel easier to sink into the background…keeping the inner self hidden…..from harm…from risks….from the world. / But ..really…wanting to bring that hidden woman out to the surface..not be afraid.. but just be.

Three seperate canvases combine to create Scribbly Gum Tryptch / Oil on scretched Canvas. / 3 x (34cm x 120cm) Original available $AU3,000 – Postage extra Exhibited at Campelltown Regional Art Gallery Centre Layers of subtle glazes were used trying to create a flowing natural backgroud to this magnificent variety of gum trees. The texture of the knots were equally important. Leaving the looseness of the larval tracks to the last. This work was created to support an upcoming exhibition by the Southern Printmakers Association entitled ‘Earthwritings’.

I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty. / UPDATE- / In 2008 this painting was STOLEN. / It was being displayed in Bentley Pines Restaurant with a group of other art from fellow students. toward the end of the year the restaurant went though refurbishments and stored the works in a disabled toilets :/ we were asked to collect the work but this painting had already gone before it could be collected. Ive contacted all the people in charge and been forwarded around like a telstra customer on hold and still haven’t gotten it back. :(

UNTOUCHED…JUST A YELLOW FILTER ADDED. / This was takeen at Lake L’Achigan,St-Hippolyte,Quebec,Canada / I was comming back from breakfast in the village where I live when I saw this scene ,I stoped ,couldn’t beleive that I wasn’t able to see on the other side of the lake.Heavy fog and soft light gave me the opportunity to do this image,I just love it ,makes me think of an old painting.If you look carefully ,you will see the other side’s shadow.The reflection was great because there were no fog in front of me just on the other side.A very foggy sunrise it was.When I did this shot it thought about «Water world» and how our the planet is beautiful even with a little piece of land. / / / /

Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper. Watercolor and pencil on illustration board, / 15×20 / 2009 Related work: / The Waterman: Unio Mystica This is the second panel of The Waterman triptych. While the central panel represents the Christ as the macrocosm, the side panels are the microcosm, represented by the Four Elements and their manifestation in the physical world. Ignis Aeris is the yang pillar, the elements Fire and Air. Volatile and oriented upward, these elements are connected to the realms of the abstract thinking and intuition. Fire is the energy, passion and primeval instincts, that need to be balanced by the intellect (Air) in order to manifest in a most constructive way. The certainty of the Divine, that comes from the heart and from a primal knowledge, needs to be shaped by the intellect in order to become less aggressive and to expand (the butterflies rising from the fire and flying upward). Only through a perfect combination of faith and reason we can access the Divine and understand Its Laws. At the basis of the picture, handling the creative power of Fire, we see the Magician of the Tarot, which I represented wearing the skin of Nemean Lion, just like Greek hero Herakles. He represents the first step in the Hero’s Journey, or that path that each one of us need to find out and go through in order to become Whole with the Universe. The Magician is the one who uses his power of will (Fire) and mental skills (Air) in order to find his own path.
