This original acrylic painting on canvas was created to depict a surfer intimately caressing the wave face as he is about to get tubed. By touching the face of the wave he feels his way through, controlling his speed and checking his position on the face. The anticipation part is untrue as he only has to wait a second to reap his reward. Somehow, in the tube time seems to be slower than “normal chronological order”. Thus the title to this work. I saw a picture in a magazine of two girls riding their horses on the beach. I was inspired by the power and movement of the pic and wanted to draw it. So, here is the finished result. / Pastel painting on grey pastel paper. Size – 48cm x 68cm. 2007. Original for sale.
