This is my first shot trying out a new idea… I call the technique “painting with waves” and it allows me to use multiple images of waves breaking to create a composite with the mood and drama that I am interested in. I hope you enjoy it. If you would like to see how I did it, then head over to my blog where I explain the technique step-by-step. Look forward to hearing what you think. Brent
This is another one of my water painting experiments…. Processed this one with a more intense stylistic look. this image is a blend of three RAW captures, 1 for the sky, 1 for the background and another one of wave hitting the rock. See my earlier work for details.
11×14 acryl on canvas / looked out my apt window at 5 am and the only “life” i saw was of a homeless man sleeping on the roof of a building with a knocked over bottle of wine, and i could “feel” the spirits of the past agonizing over the loss of “vibrance” and “dreams” in our community

This one, painted some time early last year (2007) was inspired by my wife. She suggested that a poem she likes, by William Henry Davies, would be a good subject for a painting. The extract of the poem on the painting it’s self reads… “What is life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare … / No time to stand beneath the boughs, and stare as long as sheep or cows. / No time to see, when woods we pass, where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. / A poor life this, if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare.”

Dancing In The Dawn Author: Enivea Standing on top of a hill, a cold wind blowing in our faces. / Standing in the pale dawn light while we wait patiently for the sun to rise. / Standing in the centre of a ‘fairy’ ring of mushrooms. / Standing with a friend who had never before stood and watched the sun rise. / Standing with my dog, who thought the humans so strange. There is much to commend those / Who break a habit of a lifetime / And rise to the challenge / To experience / A moment / Fully. There is something very special / To witness another in that moment / And to feel their wonder as they experience / That which has held humans in wonder over eons. / There is something very special / To witness an event that happens every day / Yet happens only once. The sun has risen. / It’s light casts long shadows / And we play with the shadows, / Dancing in the fairy ring of mushrooms / On top of a hill, with a cold wind blowing. / Pastel painting on colourfix paper
Painting inspired by a glimpse of a hare in the hazy morning sun.

A loose watercolour painting on Arches paper. Imagine an evening stroll along a hidden trail as the sun is setting throwing its warm glow across the shady trees… I did and this is what I created. Nothing like a glorious night to motivate one for a walk! The sky was alight to my delight / oh my look at those colours what a sight! / Let’s go for a stroll I said to my dog / the night is clear, no rain, no fog. The flowers were dancing their colours aglow / the tree branches swaying putting on a show / the night lit up we were bathed in light / Oh for sure this was a glorious night!

Softly, as in a morning sunrise / The light of love comes stealing / Into a new born day—oh / Flaming with all the glow of sunrise / A burning kiss is sealing / The vow that all betray / For the passions that thrill love / And lift you high to heaven / Are the passions that kill love / And let you fall to hell / So ends the story / Softly, as in an evening sunset / The light that gave you glory / Will take it all away I was listening to this wonderful song and I had to do a painting in response to the lyrics…written by Hammerstein and Romberg, the song was recorded by every one under the sun…poignant and heartbreaking, it has always resonated with me…I hope the painting does the same with you. Painted All Prima in Acrylic on Canvas. MUSIC FEATURED IN THE FOLLOWING GROUPS.. / Feminine Intent. / Watermedia. / Image Writing / Impressionist Art.
The second in the series of Landscapes inspired by another song featuring the word “Softly”...it is also a play on the title of the song, as the sun is also the “I” who is leaving….painted all prima in just two colours and white, in acrylic on Canvas…enjoy the music Softly, I will leave you softly / For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go / So I leave you softly, long before you miss me / Long before your arms can beg me stay / For one more hour or one more day / After all the years, I can’t bear the tears to fall / So, softly as I leave you there Softly, long before you kiss me / Long before your arms can beg me stay / For one more hour, or one more day / After all the years, I can’t bear the tears to fall / So, softly as I leave you there / As I leave I you there / As I leave I you there MUSIC / Softly as in a Morning Sunrise
As soon as I saw the sun rising, I raced off to get to the golf course in my Parent’s retirement village, not quite expecting what I saw. The sky was amazing. Full of incredibly vivid color, I was totally awestruck! This is one of the first pictures that I took. This is the kind of picture that I can meditate with perfect peace and harmony. If only it could have stayed this way, however, Mother Nature is ever changing. I wouldn’t have it any other way either. Thank God for the ability to do a one second CLICK! One of my very favorite songs that I find meditative and very flowing, just like this sunset is by Loreena McKennitt – The Mummer’s Dance / This picture is dedicated to ALL of my watchlist, which I haven’t been able to watch, due to lack of time…However, things are easing up a bit and I should be back with ya’awl soon for a bit!! I hope you enjoy this and know that I am there with you in spirit! / This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D 75mm wide angle lens in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Lyrics to The Mummers’ Dance When in the springtime of the year / When the trees are crowned with leaves / When the ash and oak, and the birch and yew / Are dressed in ribbons fair When owls call the breathless moon / In the blue veil of the night / The shadows of the trees appear / Amidst the lantern light We’ve been rambling all the night / And some time of this day / Now returning back again / we bring a garland gay Who will go down to those shady groves / And summon the shadows there / And tie a ribbon on those sheltering arms / In the springtime of the year The songs of birds seem to fill the wood / That when the fiddler plays / All their voices can be heard / Long past their woodland days And so they linked their hands and danced / Round in circles and in rows / And so the journey of the night descends / When all the shades are gone A garland gay we bring you here / And at your door we stand / It is a sprout well budded out / The work of Our Lord’s hand

Deep in a hidden valley where the sun always shines / Bathed in warm Golden tones it has no time. / There is no noise, just the sound of your mind / No valley like it …just one of a kind. Linda One of my creative paintings using my brilliant watercolour wheel allowing the colours to drop onto wet Canson Watercolour paper and then shaping the painting around it. 29cm x 23cm watercolour painting with Gold pen for highlights.
