  • Is this scary or what? It’s my lovely and sexy left eye. View my website to see more… / sarahbentvelzen.com

  • Melbourne Art Scene

  • Raise your banners / Hold them high above your heads / Tell them I am coming! To conquer, not be conquored / To give life, not to bring death / To feed their hungry gut, not to disembowel them / To show them the way / To lead them / To shield them from harm / To stand between them and sure destruction. Fly me a banner / And we will be conquorers

  • AFTER THE WAR We are resolute / We are stubborn / As we bury the hundreds of thousands now dead / And treat the millions hurt and in terrible pain Over time we forget / And the wounds remain / In our body, but mostly in our minds Some remember / Others deny its ugly rationale / So soon we revisit this terrible tale / Of death and devastation / Of pain and anguish / Of lies and half-truths We will repeat this scene / Over and over, / And over again – many times / Until we are no more / And others are left with the pain of war. Paul Alleyne – 02/25/08

  • An original painting, the first from a series of paintings in acrylics/mixed media which has photographic qualities (but it is a painting none the less). Inspired by a surreal May evening at Hove beach where the sea and sky blended into one – there was no horizon, and the sea turned to mercury.

  • I’m still having fun with photos from my backyard fishpond. Spring has been very kind to us in Kentucky this year and the pond is burgeoning with beautiful green life. I thought I needed some flamingos to go with my water iris … so here they are!

  • Image was created in Photoshop CS2 using a digital portrait with the mask constructed around the facial image to resemble the texture of steel. The eyes were dramatized using appropriate lighting effects.

  • Time exposure captured at night out the back window of my SUV; used a camera mount flash; overexposed 2 stops.

  • Manipulated Photograph / Digital Painting / Mnemosyne / Full Catastrophe Living. Please View Large!

  • This is photograph – macro paint, on a door panel of a derelict house. Old, crumbling, strange and very intreguing to look at, so much going on in such a tiny space. / Armley / Leeds The property is in a really really bad way, no windows only metal grills and no roof at all… (good for ab-art though!- Yeah!)

  • A combination of photoshop created images, merged and manipulated, and then edited appropriated to form this warped image with a central core of colored squares and extended waves emanating from its center

  • Bulb exposure of approx. 1 minute using remote control; hand held flash covered in fabric fired twice; “aura” created by wrapping a flashlight in a clear plastic baggie.

  • A rose macro given a texture and a great deal of tweaking and editing.

  • Mountains south of Palmdale, California. The original plain sky was replaced and the yellow plane was added for effect.

  • Abstract of rust on metal. Nikon D200, Nikkor 24-120mm /
