In this abstract, I have attempted to capture the essence of an Arabic street market scene. / I worked quickly and used instinct and subconscious, rather than technical composition skill. I have used glued painted paper shapes, then painted an impressionist watercolour scene around the collage. 16th Sept 2008 update. / I’m currently working on a larger, watercolour-only, version of this 14”x10”. / less abstract and more real, but with impressionistic aspects.

Challenge Winner, Painters in Modern Times challenge “Its in the Eyes” Watercolour on Arches Watercolour paper Original Sold The 83 year old mother of a lovely Lisu friend Situset. This old woman carries her great Grandchildren around and has no problem stepping around the uneven dirt paths that are the norm in her village. Earlier this year she was very sick and almost died. But now there is a sparkle and intensity in her eye again, dont you think?
