  • Thanks to the magic of inspiration, I have produced another painting. As usual, I am tempted to continue fiddling. It may need gold, perhaps… I know we are requested to only put finished images up….it could be finished! We’ll see.

  • A Graphic Representation of a Heart thats endured through hard times.

  • We all have defense mechanisms in effect to keep us from getting hurt. Thats what the dragon represents. However you notice hes starting to tear the heart apart. Thats because defense mechanisms are double edged sword. Sometimes we hurt ourselves trying to protect ourselves.

  • Pain is likely the primary component of life. This is likely true in final death too. I have a chance to test a theory after a injury in Feb., 2008. This series began as a simple labor – born near the end of last year. Then, in period of a few days, through much process, this series has been painted through personal pain. I have set out to test my will. While surrounded in aches, spasms, and awkward positions – I have held on to my beliefs, a desire, if I overlook my hurting – long enough; I could discover a gauging, which declares, there is also absolute beauty where there is pain. This is the simple task of this series. Having degenerative disk disease, in both my lower, and upper back, including a crushed first Lumbar Vertebra and two herniated disks… I recently blew out (ruptured) three more consecutive disks while undergoing a CAT scan by an inexperienced diagnostician who literally nearly broke my neck, trying to position it for his scan. I am a southpaw, suddenly with a 50% loss of use in my left arm and hand. Along with this issue, I had had a “vibrating” back spasm for 4 weeks straight – after I suffered this injury. The pain is writhing when I am in the sitting position – as at the dinner table, computer, or driving an automobile… Lucky for me, I have a computer chair that allows me to work inclined at a 45 degree angle – and I became more proficient with the capability of my right hand. I’m not totally crazy – after completing this series, I have taken a small bit of rest, while trying to find someone who can help me – uninsurable as I am in America – Land of the Once Great – still needing to prove to me we can be so again.

  • created for the art show entitled Fusion at my church – Flipside We just got through reading through the book of Samuel in our bible study group. It’s been tough… reconciling God in the Old Testament, who seems so harsh and distant, and Jesus in the New Testament, who seems much gentler, forgiving, and much more compassionate. Perfect love and absolute righteousness… being able to love somebody no matter who they are… yet being so righteous that even the slightest sin will never see the inside of Heaven… Those two things just seem so incompatible, but that’s God for you – a deep ocean of contradictions, holiness, and otherness that I need to hold on to – even if holding on to something so beautiful will hurt me so deeply – because I know that if I let go of it, there’s nothing in this world that could provide a worthy substitute for it. But then it’d be foolish of me to think that Christ would love me without challenging me to do things that seem impossible… It’d take quite a while to fully explain what this means to me… although I was partially inspired by Depeche Mode’s song entitled Judas, which sums it up particularly well, especially when Dave sings “Walk on barefoot for me/ Suffer some misery/ If you want my love/ If you want my love” Judas Is simplicity best / Or simply the easiest? / The narrowest path / Is always the holiest / So walk on barefoot for me / Suffer some misery / If you want my love / If you want my love Man will survive / The harshest conditions / And stay alive / Through difficult decisions / So make up your mind for me / Walk the line for me / If you want my love / If you want my love Idle talk / And hollow promises / Cheating Judases / Doubting Thomases / Don’t just stand there and shout it / Do something about it You can fulfil / Your wildest ambitions / And I’m sure you will / Lose your inhibitions / So open yourself for me / Risk your health for me If you want my love… If you want my love… If you want my love… If you want my love…

  • Vector drawing

  • Oil on Canvas I know we’re not supposed to put works in progress in here, but I think this stands on it’s own before the ghosts. I do plan to paint fog and ghosts into this one.

  • 24″ x 18″ / Oils / Original now sold / Here is the quote for this work: / Woman hears an ancient song in her breast and remembers what man has long forgotten. She still knows where Santa lives. She can still lead her little ones to where the unicorn and undine play with gnome and elf, where the water-gods enchant fairyfolk – she knows the poetry of the wind. She is a sorceress and as she passes by, fauns begin to whisper to the leprechauns that she can still tell the tale of the moon goddess on a full moon night. Blessed be she – indeed – for she is mystery, she knows the magic of God. A world only beknown to her and little children. The World of love. / ~Peter Erbe / Source: God I Am: From Tragic to Magic / I hope you enjoy my little secret garden, I had fun working on it and more than anything I wish for that to show.

  • WHAT is the love of shadowy lips / That know not what they seek or press, / From whom the lure for ever slips / And fails their phantom tenderness? The mystery and light of eyes / That near to mine grow dim and cold; / They move afar in ancient skies / Mid flame and mystic darkness rolled. O beauty, as thy heart o’erflows / In tender yielding unto me, / A vast desire awakes and grows / Unto forgetfulness of thee...Illusion by G.W.Russell The above poem expresses a lot of what the painting says…how much of life is an illusion…how often do we escape by floating away into our dreams..is this life and the world we see all unreal?...are the people and the things we see really there? are we all figments of someone else’s imagination?
