This temple is in the town of Nyaung U, in the historical area of Bagan, Burma. It was built in 1102 during the reign of King Kyanzittha. We caught it as the sun set, the light reflecting off the gold leaf stupa.

I think that Rome, Bangkok and Madrid were enough for 2008 so unfortunately no trip to China for me this year! This was taken during a weekend that I spent with my mom in Montreal … yes Montreal!! This is part of the Chinese gardens at the Botanical Gardens.
Tacoma, Washington The Asian Water Garden always fascinates me. The day can be sunny or rainy as it was here and you will feel compelled to linger and watch as the ducks and geese come to enjoy the water. This is in Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, Washington. Right next to the Pt. Diance Park Zoo and the Rose Garden.
. This lily pond is a constant source of inspiration … never fails to remind me of my favourite artist (add a bench, and it is idyllic!!!). You are invited to visit my Bubblesite for a more comprehensive viewing of my images. Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM
This is the Japanese pagoda in the Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks, California. I loved this spot with the beautiful red maple tree. These gardens are part of a park that is privately owned, but generously shared with the public. I’ve added a little Orton Effect to enhance the peaceful, easy feeling! The Balancing Rock Pagoda – Mon State, Burma. Buddhist pilgrims struggle up a steep grade to reach the pagoda. Men are allowed to approach it closely where they pray at its base and apply gold foil. Women have to be content with viewing the shrine from an elevated platform about 10 meters away. The shot was taken at sunset

These prayer strips covered an entire wall at the Thien Hau Pagoda in the Cholon district of Ho Chi Minh City. What I later found out was that each was handwritten, which I discovered when I saw this young woman sitting in a small alcove with her calligraphy set writing each prayer meticulously on these bright pink strips of paper.
Taken in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam at the Tam Son Hoi Quan Pagoda. I have said it many times, the smallest and most mundane things amuse me so that being said it is truly no surprise that I came home from a few days in Vietnam and had a photo of an electrical plug! No, it’s not Tokyo, it’s East Baltimore, hon! For over 100 years this structure has overlooked Patterson Park, and is still open to visitors every Sunday during the summer.
