Click Here / Upper Antelope Canyon – USA Tour 2008 The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tse’ bighanilini, which means “the place where water runs through rocks.” Upper Antelope is at about 4,000 feet in elevation and the canyon walls rise 120 feet above the stream bed. Though dry most of the year, Antelope Canyon runs, and sometimes floods, with water after rains. It is the water, slowly wearing away the sandstone grain by grain, that has formed the beautiful and graceful curves in the rock. Wind has also played a role in sculpting this fantastic canyon. Click Here Upper Antelope Canyon Is a spectacular petrified sand dune, created by wind, water and sand, presenting a sculptured masterpiece. / My Navajo Indian guide was lovely and explained many of the legends associated with this area. Antelope-Corkscrew Canyon, shows a powerful ray of light coming through the cavern top and illuminating the cave walls in brilliant orange-reddish colors. Antelope Canyon is so unique, it has also become known as The Corkscrew, Corkscrew Canyon, Upper Antelope, Wind Cave, or The Crack. Upper Corkscrew Canyon is located around the Navajo Reservations and usually requires a jeep to get you there. This location is just outside Page, Arizona. Photograph information: / I used a Canon Elan with a 20mm lens and negative film. / This image was taken inside the cave with a 45 second time exposure to account for reciprocity failure.

Hello! We’ve released a few things today – most importantly a new MyBubble overview page. This new page functions much the same as the old page – with a few enhancements. Filters The filters for configuring your ‘activity feed’ were previously on the left and side of the page – they have now been moved under an expandable link on the right hand side of the page (see image below). This gives us more real estate on the page to display other interesting things. Like group news, forum subscriptions and the latest RedBubble news. / / / Group news Group news is a replacement for group BubbleMail. About 75% of all BubbleMails sent are related to groups – and we were finding that the volume of messages was overwhelming many people on the site. So we’ve created a dedicated mechanism for hosts to communicate with group members – the group news area which appears on the bottom right of the new page. We think it’s vitally important that hosts have the ability to communicate effectively with the members of their group(s) – so we’ll be watching this change closely to ensure that this channel of communicate remains open. / With the reduction in the volume of BubbleMails we’re also releasing a feature to automatically notify you via e-mail when you receive a BubbleMail. This feature can easily be turned off – but we think it’s useful for keeping the conversations on the site fresh and active. / / Watching a Forum We’ve always found it hard to keep up with all the discussions going on around the site – there is so much going in so many different places. So we’ve built functionality that makes it easier to keep track of what’s going on. You can now watch a forum topic. If you chose to watch a topic you will be notified via MyBubble of any new posts in that topic. This will be particularly useful for keeping track of those conversations that take place over days and weeks – where it’s easy to miss a post. / / / You can elect to watch a forum topic by clicking on the ‘watch this topic’ button at the bottom of all topics – you can also stop watching a topic at any time. / / / Navigating to a group You can now navigate directly to your groups from the overview page – on the top right there’s a link called ‘My Groups’ that expands to list all of the groups your a member of – in alphabetical order. / / / There’s a few other minor changes with the page … but we’ll let you discover them yourself. For those of your who are interested in learning more about what’s happening behind the scenes at RedBubble we’ve set up an account here to share more the behind the scenes action. As a sneak preview here’s some design work we’re doing at the moment for the new groups interface. Soft Light illuminates the recesses the caverns of Antelope Canyon, a narrow slot canyon often no more than 8 feet wide.

The Slot Canyons of Colorado Plateau never cease to amaze me with their beauty and color. Wandering through this slot for the third time I always seem to find different view. New colors or textures reveal themselves as the day progresses almost as if the light is bottled and then judiciously poured forth for our enjoyment. The brilliant lines and colors of the sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon as mid day light pours in from above.

Every once in awhile I see something in the viewfinder that just really excites me with the possibilities and this happens to be on of those images. After 4 hours of twisting and turning in the narrow confines of Antellop Canyon I spotted this series of repeating curves and some nice light and the rest is history. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did viewing it in person! Sweeping curves of sandstone each eclipsed by the previous layer withing Antelope Canyon
