93 is the numerical value of Thelema (the Greek word for Will). People who follow Thelemic Paths base much of their information on the works of Aleister Crowley. Crowley believed he had received messages that he was a new messiah, and was to create a new religion called Thelema. 93 is also the numerical equivalent for the Greek word Agape, meaning love. Thelema, or Will is expressed as: / Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. / Agape, or Love is expressed as: / Love is the law, love under will.
Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia, and are used today as a symbol of faith by many Wiccans, akin to the use of the cross by Christians and the Star of David by Jews. The pentagram has magical associations, and many people who practice Neopagan faiths wear jewelry incorporating the symbol.

PUBLISHED in Circle Sanctuary Magazine This image is for Circle’s Wand & Staff issue. Although there are a lot of wands and staffs and various other items of magical use out there, the truth is that any ol’ stick can become a wand if you believe it to be. However, just because that’s true doesn’t mean its wrong to have a fancy staff of a particular type of wood, with feathers and crystals and gemstone beads and amulets and ribbons and leather and carvings and whatever else you feel you need or just plain want on your staff. Magic has a lot to do with YOUR mind and heart and body and especially spirit, so you should practice the way YOU work best. Just don’t think you have to buy some expensive wand from a magic shop online somewhere. No matter how much you pay for it, it’s still a stick until you decide to make it your wand.
PUBLISHED The Circle Magazine, Fall 2007 This image is also for their Wand & Staff issue. I wanted a picture that had a lot of movement, a fantasy-like feel to it, and yet also for the people to still look like realistic wiccans in ritual. I always like to make these pagan-people images with both a man and a woman, and I’m not just trying to be PC; I really do believe in equality. From my experience with wiccan/pagan imagery, men very often get slighted in favor of goddess imagery, but then again my main focus is fantasy art, not pagan illustration, so maybe I’ve just been looking in the wrong places. That was kind of convenient in this image too since the issue is titled Wands & Staffs so I wanted both a wand and a staff, and really one person using both would be a little redundant.
