The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. Lainers the Happy Lil Dead Girl by Paul Rees-Jones She floats around the light, / That shining orb so bright. She knows its ringing call, / But doesn’t want it at all. Skin so white, cheeks pink and red, / Content in being the living dead. Her friends are cold, just like her, / Living and playing, just like they were. And oh the joy of pranks and scares, / To those who trespass without cares. Moaning and groaning like a ghost, / Is something she like the most. Flying free, spinning in a whirl, / Lainers the happy lil dead girl.

Mordron Is the Welsh Mother Goddess. / Our earth, we need to came to fundamentals. / We must remember where we come from. I used many fractals here. I wanted to depict the “unreal” part of this world representated by Her Mother. / Tool of the trade is Paint Shop Pro. / One photo of the model, then about 40 layers of fractals. arf arf… i cut and pasted a lot, above all to make the details of the dress. If you look closely you’ll also find a dandelion over the dress ;) I usually embedded the layers using various blend mode, my faves are soft light, hard light & overlay! / The bg is also made using various fractals, merged together thanx to blending ;) —-—-—-—-—-— My gallery is Copyright © Wandering Soul. I have always loved ruined and bare country chapels where the outside elements seem to be brought in through the windows and shafts of light. To me, the deep greenwood and forests are nature’s chapels,which can bring you closer to the divine than any grand,gold guilded cathedreal. For me there is no seperation between the divine and the natural world around us…..and I have found peace and harmony many times amongst the sacred Celtic springs and ancient trees in forgotten corners of this country. This image was particularly inspired by the small holy wells of South West Cornwall, where even to this day poeple leave offerings and gifts to the water elements and the old Gods.

SAMHAIN / Entry for The Spirit Walks contest / (Halloween , All Hallows Eve, All Souls Night) Celtic New Year / Beginning of Winter Festival of the Dead,ruled by the Crone aspect of the Goddess. Now in her wise woman aspect she returns to the underworld with the energies of the earth to rest and digest the years growth and lessons.The nights grow longer in the dark grip of winter untill the Sun is re-born at Yule (Winter Solstice) and the Goddess will return re-newed and virginal at Imbolc (Feb 2nd)

The image features a photograph of a real White Raven (also known as a “Spirit Raven” by local Haida people) born in May, 2008 on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada. He is one of two rare white and 3 black Ravens born to 2 accepting (black) parents. The two rare birds are not albino which is what makes them so unusual. Their eyes are quite blue. All 5 siblings are getting along extremely well and all are thriving. White Ravens are very rare and hold sacred meaning for many groups and cultures throughout the World, including Native American Indian, Celtic, Norse and Wiccans. This artwork is another tribute to these remarkably intelligent and friendly birds. 50% proceeds from all sales go to the Mountainaire Avian Society in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.

Hecate is the Greek goddess of witchcraft, childbirth and the crossroads. She has power over skies, earth and sea, which I wanted to show through each one of the three figures. The central one carries several symbols attributed to the goddess: the pomegranates in her hair remind us of the legend of Persephone, in which she plays an important role; while she hides her right eye behind her hand, the eye still shows through the fingers, meaning that she’s got the “vision”, or the capacity of seeing the past, present and future. The moon under her right breast denotes that Hecate is a moon goddess, and that she protects the women in labor and their offspring – the moon is associated to the motherhood. Hope it’s alright… / So everyone is aware – this is a photomanipulation – not an actual photo that I took…. / I manipulated sky, grass, clouds, colors…. :) to give it a fantasy feel… Peace, Claudia

Watercolor and pencil on illustration board, / 10×8 / 2009 Model: Adhara Batul One of the Greek myths I adore the most, for its incredible strength, poetry and significance, is the myth of Persephone. In Greek mythology, Persephone was the goddess of the underworld and of the Spring growth. Daughter of Demeter, goddess of the harvest, she was abducted by Hades and taken to the land of the dead. By a determination of the Fates, she was forced to stay for two seasons each year after eating pomegranates seeds, thus becoming consort of Hades and queen of the underworld. This time I opted by depicting her sorrow and solitude after having the seeds, although there’s quite an air of resignation with her destiny.
