I found this beautiful patch of lilies outside of the local / prison. It was ironic to see the barbed wire fence just beyond them in the distance. Made me terribly grateful to be standing at that spot-at that moment.. / / / >Featured< in United States / / / Laminated Print / / Framed Print / / /

This image was taken in the UK (Devon). It is a female, caught in the act of laying eggs, which made it easier to approach carefully.
“Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors. On a visit to the Jardin Botanique in Montreal I was captivated by the Chinese Garden. Various ponds and streams had huge floating islands of lily pads. But it was not until I rested that I discovered these two lily pads and the reflections, just over the side of the bench I was sitting on. Taken in macro mode. FEATURED IN SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION / FEATURED IN ALL SOFT AND CUDDLIES!! / FEATURED IN A BEAUTIFUL BLUR / FEATURED IN ALPHABET SOUP / FEATURED IN PHOTOGRAPHY 101 This little duckling got separated from his mother and was / hiding under a bush. When I approached to take a picture he kept trying to hide and eventually ran across the water and hopped on this lily pad in the middle of the pond. He stayed there until I left and when I looked back he swam back to shore. I thought he was so cute as if to say “I am safe here because you can’t see me on this lily pad” Nikon D90
Those faces they were making just cracked me up.. Thanks for the look here. Best viewed in large format to see thier facial expressions~ Nikon D60 / Image taken at my home in N.Eastern, Ct. just south of Hartford. / Summer 08’

Another infrared shot from watermead park in Leicestershire. The other magical thing about IR is that it works best when its stinking hot! The reults you get make you think that you had just photographed the hardest frost ever!

I took this shot in the Stoke Poges memorial gardens which is in Buckinghamshire. The grounds are beautifully set out as a final resting place for your ashes. I love the way the single flower here looks like a guiding light or a bright beacon to attract the creatures from the pond to it and also the way the blue sky is reflecting on the surface of the water.
