  • Too much Information
    by Andy Mercer

    US$4.28–US$114.00

Everywhere we look we are surrounded by piles of useless information.. and small print.. should we read it all to make sure we don’t leave ourselves ill informed or worse ? Ignorance is no excuse when it comes to the law. You know if I don’t fill in the paperwork and get my image copyrighted it might be stolen.. and if i don’t get my vehicle licensed it might be towed away.. / My meter is constantly turning.. how many units have been used today ? / How many vitamins or calories do we need to be happy ? And the TV tells me everyday we need to know about events in Emerdale, Afghanistan, the Big Brother House, and Tibet ? They released hostages in Columbia yesterday and it rained before the pound rose against the dollar. / Whats the score at Wimbledon ? In case I am asked ? I must recycle because the planet is dying. My interest rate has gone down ! The lovely female weather forecaster tells me I need to know there is high pressure over the Atlantic.. the traffic on the M25 is bad today and there are delays after an an accident involving a 71 yr old which is causing long delays for anyone waiting to use the bathroom.

  • Pretty Package
    by Ginny Schmidt

    US$4.42–US$117.80

Here is a lovely Christmas present for you, all wrapped up with pretty red ribbon. Actually it began life as another out of focus (no flash) photo of the municipal Christmas tree at the St. Pete Pier. It had such a wonderful abstract feel to it straight off the camera, that I though just a little sharpening and contrast enhancement would be enough. But then … Then it inspired me to gift wrap it for you to go under you tree, on your wall, or in the mail as a cheerful greeting. Digital photo shot with an HP Photosmart R818, without flash.

This is image is part of a series called Recycled. I used a flat bed scanner to make images of objects and materials we regularly dispose of. Artist Statement Pollution, global warming, excess and abuse are all topics that we deal with daily. I am very concerned with these issues at moments and yet, as the rest of my culture, I tend to look away or excuse myself from the responsibility of dealing with them. In this project I seek to materialize this process of ignorance or neglect. / Often times we see these detrimental issues as things to make news and conversation over, not things that we need to invest in or make changes to. We find ways to make money from the negative actions we have already committed rather than making effective, global changes. / In a way, I carry out this same process in my images. I turn something used into something new and beautiful. I compose trash into an image that we want to look at and admire rather than feel embarrassed or ashamed of. / My images are meant to be pleasing to the eye. They are new visions of everyday objects. However, they ARE trash. This creates tension. Something that is supposed to be thrown away and hidden so no one has to look at it is displayed in a positive light and very large so that you want to admire it. It is this confusion and contrast that I want my viewers to experience.

.... and onetonshadow I suspect!! I bought a Redbubble Tshirt the other day – which in itself isn’t that unusual …. What I was really rapt to see was the new packaging ….... it’s brilliant … or as the girl child said … madical!! (theoretically a cross between mad and radical) Attached to the tag is a tiny peg – hanging off the tiny peg is a tag with the name of the tshirt and the artist on one side and more oneton cleverness on the other. Thanks guys – given that there a so many sites out there on the interweb which allow you to make and sell tshirts I know I certainly appreciate your attempts to have the RB Tees standing out from the crowd!!

  • Andy's Art Box
    by Andy Mercer

    US$3.71–US$30.88

Everything in the world comes with packaging.. so why not Art ? I like the idea of buyer participation or even DIY art.. and would enjoy it if “you” make this into a box and send me the picture ! Also here’s a deal for anyone interested in unusual collectibles.. buy two of these prints and send them to me. I will sign one and return it to you.. I will keep the other for my own use ? When I am even more internationally famous in a few years and my works are fetching £50 squllion each.. you can say “I knew him.. and emailed him about his Art box.. and now I am rich because of it !” (DISCLAIMER : This artist may not become even more internationally famous.. and buying his work does not guarantee you will become rich.. you “probably” will though. The value of art can rise or fall.. you will lose your house if you do not keep up repayments) (For those of you following my “Andy’s new world consumerism” thread.. read on.. so now you have a package for your product.. all you need now is the right paperwork / to process your order.) /

I want everyone who hasn’t had the experience yet to rest assured that this is one CLASS A organization. / I purchased several prints and cards earlier this month. They came so perfectly wrapped, with such care and spotless professionalism…..and that was just the package! The prints are done in a spectacular way. The photographs look as if you’ve bought the original, the work is impeccably formatted, no dents, scratches, fingerprints but museum quality. True also for a painting I bought a print of. I’ll show them soon, still getting frames done. / I’m so proud of RedBubble. Worry about what on earth they might be sending out completely vanished. It’s beautifully done. And I’ve just heard from Whispering Ruth who bought two of my “Cowgirls Rule” tee shirts and they’ve arrived. She delightfully sent me pictures, man do they look goooood. Not just the printing and shirt quality (even seams, dead center picture, beautifully turned out) but the RedBubble shirt LABEL is hysterical. “A Wholesome and Filling Designer Snack: Nutritional Information: Fat (none-BYO) Editble (not recommended) Deliciousness (9/10) Protein (14Kg/weave) Iron (11 Ferrides) Vitamin C (cotton) (400 g) etc. / I thought I’d write this up for anyone who hasn’t purchased yet or has been concerned about any aspect of this fine place. I’m here to say they do the artists here proud.

. . . when new parcels arrive at my doorstep. So about 2 weeks ago i ordered a few of me ‘face’ shirts and today they arrived, and I must say that I was surprised with some of it’s outcomes. For instance, the ‘lemon’ shirt is Literally a Lemon colour! The colour view on this site seems more of an Amber yellow or even School-bus yellow if anything. I’m probably wrong on that but yes, the Lemon shirt is very Lemon! Still good But anyway I’m VERY satisfied with the outcomes of the Oral Fixation / series. For those of you who’ve happened to order any of those, how did they come out for you’se?!
