A Baying Wolf, is a sad and haunting sound you dont hear anymore, to me it seems as though they knew long ago it would come to this pass, hence their howling started. A rare sound indeed. / Wolves are an endangered species and have been hunted for centuries and nearly extinct, hopefull through careful conservation these beautiful beasts will be around forever and everyone can hear their special song. A pastel picture, I try to do art with heART / zazzle / / / / / For other items see my Zazzle site under DawnMcininch I an honored by such a beautifully writtenPeom By Dawnsky2 ( laura redmond), please check out lauras magical gallery. / dawnsky2 Forgotton Song I watch her from a distance / There she sits, upon the hill / Silhouetted against the dying sun. / Whatever happened to their existence? / Whoever caused their blood to spill? / And now, what is done is done. On the rise her head lifts / The breeze takes the howl adrift / As she cries, for the life of her pack. / The mournful sound of loss and grief / Is carried upon rustling leaves. / For what is done, is done / And there’s no going back. For a moment, in the Golden haze / She sees me from where I stand / And from the depths of my heart I feel her pain. / With pride she holds my gaze. / Her Forgotten song goes unheard to some. / But I hear her all the same. I close my eyes. / Her words are soft and wise. / One single tear adorns my cheek, / As she finds the words she wants to speak, / She tells me the story of the Forgotten Song. With that, she appears before me / No longer is she upon the hill I see. / I reach down to touch her, / She is not real / But I feel the warmth and life in her fur. She allowed me this moment of insight / Before she fled back to the night. / And suddenly, / Under my fingers was no longer the softness of her fur / But just the gentle spirit of her / And of the Forgotten Song. / For what is done, is done. Many thanks to Laura for this beautifully written poem
Death in a 20-pack
Acrylic painting on canvas. / Since being a child, cats have been and continue to be very important to me. I’ve indulged myself here with heaps of colour and one of my favourite subjects.
Heaps of cats, heaps of colour…I lost count when painting these…they are also around the sides…at least 70 of them!
I’ve used three photographs to produce this image. Two for the wolves and one for the background. / For paint effects I used Photoshop elements and for freehand painting, cloning, layers, colour ajustments, I used Corel X3.
Everything on the walls behind the kid is work that I did either in grade school or high school. Yes, I still have EVERYTHING that I did back then. It’s taking over every nook and cranny in my house, much to the chagrin of my loving wife. What can I say, I’m sort of a pack rat. Do I really need the cartoons I scribbled on my math homework when I was eight? No. Am I going to keep it anyway? You better believe it.

I loved the colour and texture of this old suitcase that I spotted in Bo’Ness Railway station in Scotland. Bo’Ness is a small town on the banks of the River Forth which is home to a very well preserved steam railway. The old station has been extremely well preserved as an early 20th century train station. This photograph won 1st prize in Stirling and District Camera Club’s Annual Print competition for 2008.

Digital art inspired by the wildlife in my area and the howls at night that send a shiver up my spine. :) This art work has been FEATURED in the group, “Wolves in Art”.

The phonograph, or gramophone, was the most common device for playing recorded sound from the 1870s through the 1980s. They continue to be manufactured and sold into the 21st century, although in small numbers. While there are many audiophiles who still prefer vinyl records over digital music sources (primarily compact disc) for their perceived fidelity, they represent an enthusiastic minority of listeners. The quality of the available record players, tonearms, and cartridges has continued to improve, despite a diminishing market.
For all the cat lovers out there. I tried to create different expressions on these colourful feline faces.

From a pack trip with my mom and our two llamas Diamond and Carmella. Diamond is “mine” (although I can’t bring her to school with me so mostly my mom works with her) and is a trooper when the going gets rough. /
