Polynesia is the birth place of surfing, wave sliding. Still today the islands are the object of every surfers obsession, the power and beauty of the pacific swells.
This image inspired a collaboration with / chord0 / / His poem God’s love in Nature suite this image perfectly. God’s love in Nature / When slight and silenced, / With rumors of corollas and wings, / Is love that fills everything! / Have agitated waves / And the deep vertigo / Of the abyss and the distance. / Life and Death, eternal Love / Of pain and exuberance, / Keep me chained / To the light of his Word / And that sleeps at dusk / In the footprints of the plants. About this photo A view of the sun setting over the South Pacific, somewhere off the coast of New Caledonia.
Each day seems to fade into another, one day echoes into the next, though each Sun that sets paints a different picture!

This scenic pic is a combination of shots. A composite of four shots. All shots were taken in northern California with my Canon Rebel XT, EOS. My husband loves to feed the birds, and other critters along the coast line. I took shots of him feeding the birds, and I love to take shots of sunsets over the coast. The west coast sunsets are some of the best. I turned it BW and love it best in BW. He loves to stop at sunset for a break so I can shoot, early morning and sunset are my favorite times to shoot.

long beach, washington i took this photo some time ago, but somehow it was lost in the mix. the sky changed so many colors within a short time that night – it was incredible. the colors combined with the reflections created by low tide made a feast for the eyes. as well as a clam feast later. ;-) www.elliewinds.com
As I crawled from my tent with blurred eyes, I could see that the sun was going to rise perfectly behind Alau Island. This image was unplanned, yet a perfectly wonderful stroke of luck.
The Old Salt Barn on Ka’ono’ulu Ranch is fixin’ to fall down any day now, the owner told me. And so I made this old building my priority. Shooting HDR style, was able to capture the full glory of the UpCountry Maui sunset.
On a lovely summer evening at Cannon Beach, Oregon, we were treated to a nice sunset which was photographed by many. A sunrise of this immense beauty is a true rarity and I am thrilled to be able to share this with the redbubble community! The photo shows the beach in downtown Port Orford, Oregon near our home, with the color-bathed waves of the Pacific rolling ashore and the misted coastal mountains silhouetted against the gorgeous morning sky. The photo is unedited and reflects the intense colors and spectacular scenery exactly as it was witnessed! (Nikon D700, Nikkor DX 18-70 mm f/3.5-4.5 ED Lens, Settings f/4.5, 1/80th, ISO 200, 40 mm)

Sunset over Garrison Lake and the Pacific. Garrison Lake is located in the coastal community of Port Orford, a small fishing village on the southern Oregon coast. The lake is separated by a narrow strip of dune, beyond which lies the Pacific Ocean. The rocks on the horizon (better viewed at full size) are sea stacks of the Orford Reef, which are approximately 5 miles out to sea.
Sun Setting Over Dent Island © Vicki Ferrari This was another sunset taken from the mighty nightly War Canoe Sunset Cruise, looking over Dent Island, towards the mainland (Shute Harbour and Airlie Beach,Australia). It was taken around 1990, using my old Minolta SLR (a great workhorse!). I have scanned this 6X8 print from my one of my portfolios, with basic editing in photoshop but basically it is as it was taken back then! Thanks for looking!
This video guy and I were the last two taking advantage of the late light of this sunset. It almost always pays to take shots several minutes after the crowd of photographers leave as soon as the sun is down. Taken at Cannon Beach, Oregon with a Canon XT and a 28-135. Title from a certain Chris Isaak song… I haven’t been taking a lot of photos whilst enjoying my stay in San Francisco but this little visit to a certain bridge we all know, made the fact that I hadn’t been out not matter to me at all, I absolutely loved this spot and I can’t wait to come back to this great city and explore it a little bit more… Without a doubt this is already one of my favourite photos out of the many thousands I have taken over the past 18 months or so, thanks for looking :D / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm IS.
