Sailor by Cheyenne The Lighthouse: / Old and Beautiful, Tall and Bright as it guides my Sailor home in the night. / Dark and Stormy sea, / the Hurricane tosses, his Boat rocks, / water breaches it’s Deck. / My Sailor’s in trouble, / His Ship as it begins to sink. / All hope is lost, until.... / Until He sees Me, / My shadow cast out on the Stormy sea, / casting out miles away, / the powerful light within the Lighthouse, / guides my Sailor home again. / Safe and Sound, my True Love is found. / The Lighthouse stands Tall and True, perched on top a cliff, / Old and Beautiful. / A symbol of Our strong Love. / Faithful We are to It. / It’s faithfulness is forever to our Gratitude. This is a view of La Corbiere Light House in Jersey, CI, that I discovered for the first time this summer. This has become one of my favorites. I look forward to going again next year. I love seaside skies. They can be so romantic and sometimes mysterious, and the sound of the waves crashing upon the rocks or the much gentler shore line. My first star trail attempt. / While at the Grampians for a few days with family, Neil and I headed out to Lake Fyans after our sunset shoot to do some star trail shots. It was really peaceful and relaxing out there, very surreal. / Even though we were on hardly any sleep, finishing off at 1:30am, and having to be up at 5am the next morning, I think this was worth it. I’ll definitely be trying this again. Following on from my first attempt at star trails, while in the Grampians with Jared and Lee, Jared and I went out to Lake Fyans to try our luck. This is my second attempt at star trails. Still learning but improving I think. / Jared’s amazing first attempt is here Camera: Canon 5D / Lens: EF 17-40 f4.0 / Focal length: 22mm (Note – full frame sensor) / Shutter Speed: 30 seconds x 111 exposures / Aperture: f4.5 / ISO: 400 / White balance: Auto / Format: RAW / Drive Mode: Burst / Tripod, remote shutter release / Post Processing: Lightroom – Exposure + 1.52, straighten, slight crop / Photoshop – Chris Schur’s Star Trails Action Slight Levels, slight curves Lessons Learnt… Next time, shoot at 800 to get more light. Pay more attention to composition of the foreground.

I have wanted to get a nice picture of it for about ten years now, and we actually went by it two days ago. I used my Canon Rebel XT to capture this shot. I was excited that we were going to get there at sundown. Funny thing is right after this shot, we ran into another one just like it in Indiana. I could not believe someone else put the exact same cross on their farm property, wonder if their related. This is Groom, Texas skyline, and put them on the map. The settings were shutter speed 1/30sec. F-stop F/5.0, ISO 400, Focal Length 140.0mm. This was an as is shot. Welcome to the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ Ministries and the marvelous story of what God is doing through this 19 story cross located on Interstate 40 at Groom, Texas. Construction of the / cross frame was done in two shops in Pampa, Texas by more than 100 welders and erected in July of 1995. Truly, all things are possible for those who believe. Ten million people pass by every year. One thousand stop each day. This 190 foot tall free standing Cross can be seen from twenty miles away. Thomas saith to him, “Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?” Jesus saith to him: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.”

John and I decided to be one of the first people to photograph the brand new sexy toy the Perth Wheel as of operation 9th Jan 2009. Sort of copied, ok copied from the hugely successful London Eye, the Perth Wheel it stands 50m high, can carry 284 passengers in 36 capsules. For $15 adults $10 children, you get to spend roughly 15 minutes on the wheel, which will do approximately three revolutions. There is even a VIP capsule which boasts leather seats, best to get clients stuck with you high in the sky to approve your business proposal in comfy leather seats and a plasma screen display. Operators are also expecting it to become popular for marriage proposals and birthday celebrations…oh and those girlfriend boyfriend stuff.
