  • This is an Eastern collared lizard, and this particular specimen belongs to a subspecies of the broader genus that inhabits the few remaining glade habitats in southern Missouri’s Ozark Mountains. I personally really like this image because the colorful, lichen covered rocks are just as beautiful as the lizard, and the two together make for a special treat! / /

  • This is the old Naugle’s Store & Post Office, located in Brixey Mo. Whenever I used to take my Mom on a drive to Rockbridge, we would always come to Naugle’s Store to buy some picnic supplies. Mom would always visit with Bessie Naugle, the owner, about old times. The last time I was here and it was open was about 15 years ago. My family lived about a half mile from here in the 1950’s (before I was born) and my older brothers & sisters went to both Upper Brixey and Lower Brixey one room schools.

  • There’s nothing like Autumn in the Ozarks Mountains! This was shot in the Ozark National Forest near Hawksbill Crag. Back-lighting the leaves with a low setting sun.

  • ~ Autumn Country Roads ~ As Is…. / Canon PowerShot S3 IS / As Is…...... This is one of may favorite dirt roads to shoot during the fall, and I make sure to be here in late afternoon for back lighting on the leaves, and forest. / Boston Mountains, Ar. • Lee creek’s forks “where it splits”. Hanging trees creating a fun tunnel to float! YE-HAW!!!!!!!!!

  • 16” X 18” Oil on Canvas /

  • This lovely barn is in complete harmony with the late Autumn colors of Boxley Valley, Arkansas nestled deep with in the Ozark National Forest. Canon Powershot S70 / 1/250 F/5.3 !

  • Combination one room school house, church, community building, and town hall. These structures are scattered through out the Ozark Mountains, and the foothills of Arkansas. Sooooooo…... These types of scenes are very familiar to me, living here in the good ol’ natural state. My very first years of school began in a one room school house almost identical to this one, and it is now long gone.. When I look at this photograph, I can still see us all running, and playing in the school yard, and hear all of our laughter, and screaming. All the sounds of the children playing, as we went along in our merry, carefree younger days. I remember…........

  • Panoramic view of a barn on the top of a bluff overlooking the Buffalo River and the Ozark National Forest. / Canon EOS 30D / Sold a Laminated Print to Bonnie Taylor Barry

  • Ozark National Forest Autumn 2009. Canon EOS 30D Other Images from the Ozarks:

  • This is the fantastic scene we witnessed from the front porch of our cabin in the Ozark National Forest. Their is just something about being in the mountains and seeing the sun peer through the fog on a cool crisp autumn morning. We had a beautiful time enjoying the beauty of God’s creation all around us. Canon EOS 30D Other images from the Ozarks:

  • A view of the old Cope School, a one-room country school house. From what I was able to find, it was named for the people who donated the land for the school. The old tin roof is mostly gone from the far side, and if you view large, you can see the blue sky through the rafters. It is decaying fast and I predict it won’t be around for too many more years. This is located in rural Wright County Missouri, several miles northeast of Hartville.

  • ~ Twin Falls ~ Trail head at Camp Orr in the Buffalo River Wilderness, Arkansas Usa. / The beautiful picturesque Twin Falls now has an added beauty right beside it due to all the rain we have had in the last month. Shot this photo in the pouring rain, using my uni pod, and with my camera on auto, and of course the umbrella was a must! LOL! It was quite the challenge steadying the camera, juggling the umbrella, all the while with the lightning flashing, and the forest canape swirling in the strong winds of the storm, which caused tornadoes in many surrounding areas. By the time I finished this shoot I was soaked to the bone, but this shot and the many others I shot were all worth every moment. BUT MY CAMERA REMAINED DRY!!!!!! / I am real happy with the silky water, as I have no means to set my camera for timed shots. / Taken 5-8-09

  • This is one of my favorite back roads. I take this road when going to Hawks Bill Craig. This was taken in 2005, and the fall colors were to die for! / The road sides were logged later that winter, and man talk about ruining the beauty of a road! / So I am happy that I took this photo when I did. It will never be the same in my life time! / Arkansas Country, USA PHOTOS BELOW ARE CLICKABLE FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE AUTUMN DRIVE / COUNTRY LANE / WINTER FROST / SETTING SUN / AUTUMN COUNTRY ROAD / FOREST PATH / SIMPLE FOREST SCENE /

  • Arkansas barn reflected in water in the Buffalo Wilderness Region near Jasper, AR. The Ozark National Forest is unbelievably beautiful in Autumn. Other Images from the Ozarks:

  • An artistic coloring added to a Foggy November Morning in the Ozarks of Missouri

  • It was 2008 and many places in the Ozarks were saturated with flood waters….....and this morning we had a fog as well.

  • Taken just after a heavy spring down pour, and the bright sun pops from behind a storm cloud. The water was raging, the bluffs wet, and shining in the sun, the light was way too bright for the waterfalls. I shot this on auto, could I have done anything else wrong! LOL! But …I had fun editing it to make it one of my best, worse shots. / :) Covered Bridge taken in Ponka Arkansas / Canon S3 IS PowerShot

  • Fall colors are gorgeous this year, but it would have been nice to have had a bit of light on the subject :)

  • Bold, and Beautiful Ozark Fall Colors / Edited in Gimp 2 / Print 2 of my Autumn Impressions Series, with that whimsical feeling. /

  • Trees in my forest yard, they are a big part of my garden even though mother nature planted them! I just work around them. They add a lot of color to my life…....in every season! / Bold, and Beautiful Ozark Fall Colors / Edited in Gimp 2 / Print 2 of my Autumn Impressions Series, with that whimsical feeling. / / /

  • The dark cold days of old man winter is well on his way, while autumn still showing off a bit of her remaining golden brown colors. A beautiful mixing of the two seasons. Today they were handsomely joined together as one….....
