  • I am trying something different.

  • Back in ‘98 I did the overland track, Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair in the middle of winter. It was very cold, but crowd free and the snow capped peaks were magnificient. On the middle day of our walk we climbed Mt Ossa (1617m), the highest Mountain is Tassie on which my friend Toby insisted that he must pose on its snow covered top in the buff. Later me and a now clothed Toby climed Pelion East. The previous occassion I’d done this walk was back in the scouts in 1989 on which occassion I did not get the chance to climb Pelion East which I had regretted ever since. It was therefore particularly special to finally get up it and more so in the glorious light of the late afternoon. We didn’t reach our hut until after dark happy in our days adventures. For more Tassie shots check out my Tasmania gallery. 10% of all profits go to the Wilderness Society

  • Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Passing a Road Train on the Overlander’s Way, Queensland, Australia. For over 100 years our pioneers have been discovering the Overlander’s Way. Today, travellers can follow in their footsteps on a 1,550 kilometre driving adventure across the breadth of Queensland and into the Northern Territory linking the wonders of the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef to the rugged Aussie Outback. It begins at the tropical city of Townsville or Tennant Creek in the heart of the Northern Territory and follows the paths of our droving heroes who brought vast herds of live cattle from the east Kimberleys to the coast. The route, which later served as an important supply line during World War II, takes in the Outback towns of Charters Towers, Hughenden, Richmond, Cloncurry, Julia Creek, Mount Isa and Camooweal on the Queensland-Northern Territory border and Tennant Creek.
