Overgrown with stinging nettles this bench sits on the rhododendron covered banks at the mouth of the lovely river Tay in Kenmore, Scotland. Parties mark the start of its famous salmon fishing season here and it looks like the fishermen then waste no time sitting down and just wade in !! :)) See also misty loch tay taken a few hundred yards away where the river goes into the loch.. . a really beautiful spot! / ;))

The platform of the old Coonawarra railway Station. Overgrown and disused but still bearing the hallmark name of the region. For those few of you who have never heard of Coonawarra it is THE premium red wine region of Australia. Blood red soil over limestone in perfect growing climate. Near Penola in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. Cannon 400D, 3 shot HDR 18/55 converted to B&W in CS3.

On an afternoon in May, 2007, Homer and I discovered an abandoned old homeplace that looked as if it were waiting for the owners to return. It had once been a beautiful home with french doors leading out to the front porch, a huge fireplace in the center of the home and lovely windows. The hot and humid South Carolina summers had hastened the wild growth of nature into, over and around the house. I felt sad thinking of this once lovely home being overtaken by nature, but that is the way of the world. FEATURED IN THE NATURE’S RECLAMATION GROUP – MARCH, 2009! This photo was taken in an abandoned psychiatric hospital just out of Brisbane. The cold, concrete toilet block has become home to a network of roots and one rather large tree which is just off to the right: / But by far the creepiest thing of this room is the old hand print on the wall… /
