Nick and I were hoping to catch up with Ken Wright for a shoot, but the weather wasn’t looking good. Ken decided to sleep in, but Nick and I drove down to the coast anyway. Sat in the car while it rained and waited, and waited….then walked down to the rocks after dawn, with umbrellas….and waited some more….eventually I weakened and asked for the keys so I could start shooting…. I’m glad I did…..got some rippers, in the end! Thank goodness for the heavy clouds, makes shooting after dawn so much easier! Waves crashing over the rocks at Narrabeen in Sydney’s northern beaches. The weather was a bit rough this morning and the tides were rising pretty fast, my feet, legs and tripod got drenched while taking this shot, but it is all part of the fun.. The overflow system at Ladybower Dam in Derbyshire. The source of the river Derwent.
Clancy Stops the Overflow / Artist: Peter Mortimore From the plaque: “Our most celebrated stockman comes to the rescue again, this time preventing a disastrous waste of “Bundy”. With the help of his loyal steed Bamjo. Clancy arrives just in the nick of time to save the spillage of liquid gold that ensures any party is fair dinkum Aussie.” Far off the beaten track along side a dirt road in a paddock are a selection of Holden Utes painted by some well known & not so well known Australian artists. They can be found near Ootha and Condoblin in the Central West Slopes and Plains of NSW, Australia. Well worth a trip out! more info here Canon EOS 50D / Canon 16-55mm lens. Thank you for looking.
I don’t know where this came from, apart from some random photos I’ve taken in the last year… and some squiggly bits A sister image to Lamplight

Pontsiclli resevoir in the Breacon Beacons, this is a rather spooky overflow system.
Gentle movement of the waters spilling quietly from the stream, make me want to move a little closer, dangle my feet over the edge, and listen to the beauty of nature calling with its songs. / Photograph taken in Thompson Ridge, New York, USA / Canon Powershot SX 10 IS, 45mm, 1/13 sec, F/8, ISO 80 /

Taken with a zoom lens on my Canon A75 one street over from mine on Sunday April 20/08. The ice has melted but in many spots has overflowed the banks of the lake. What is not shown in this close up is the sandbagging that I climbed over to take this shot. / At the end of each street that is perpendicular to the lake are small rest areas maintained by the town. It is pleasant to sit and contemplate the beautiful lakeview. Doesn’t look likely this spring without rubber boots! / I thought the fire hydrant and bench made for an interesting image! This photo was shown on the CTV Montreal station CFCF as an example of flooding conditions on the north shore, on Friday April 25th-08.
Anyone who’s been to Venice has probably seen this at least once… it’s a little strange to stand in San Marco Piazza for a while… and then, “Oh crap! Where the heck is all this water coming from?!” The kids always take it in stride and make the best of the situation, though :)
I drew this to symbolize a specific time in my life. / It was an awakening, and I felt my spirit was finally emerging from darkness.
