As we patiently awaited for the highly anticipated Australia Day 2007 fireworks, we were greeted by a rather unpleasant overcast and patchy sky, many thanks to the soaring 40C heat. Great sweat workout though. MORE WORKS FROM MY PORTFOLIO /

Went out this morning to Newport beach, it was rainy and drizzly but I took cover in the mens toilet hoping for it to let up. Luckily it was too early for anybody to see me or they probably would have called the cops thinking I was a perv. Took this shot to try to capture the mood of shitty day.

Near Lytle Creek I found this waterfall on an overcast day…
Enjoy! _
Sanctuary – Middle English, from Old French sainctuarie, from Late Latin s?nctu?rium, from Latin s?nctus, sacred, sanctify. Sacred place, especially the most sacred part of a sacred place. In ancient times and in the Middle Ages, a sanctuary served as asylum, a place of refuge for persons fleeing from violence or from the penalties of the law. To injure a person in sanctuary or to remove him from it forcibly was considered sacrilege. In Egypt the temples of Osiris and Amon offered the right of sanctuary. Under the Greeks all temples enjoyed this privilege, and certain ones, like the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, were known throughout the Mediterranean world as a haven for fugitives. In Rome fugitive slaves often sought sanctuary. Christian churches were given the right of sanctuary by Constantine I. Abuses of sanctuary, tending to encourage crime, led to its curtailment and abolition. Modern penal codes no longer recognize the right of sanctuary.

Came across this abandoned field and an old footprint of a house at the end of this private road on Saturday, September 27th 2008, in Rigaud, Quebec Canada. Despite the weather being overcast and rainy, I could not pass it by, I was attracted by the yellow. A friend tells me it is buckwheat. / I walked the property and kept thinking, a house once stood upon this very spot, looking over the valley and to the hills beyond. People once lived here…and had dreams, dreams now long forgotten… Featured in the Country Roads/Around the World group February 2009
The old chapel at the bottom of the hill at Monsalvat in Eltham, Victoria, Australia. Montsalvat consists of a series of unique and distinctive buildings in the European style set in over 12 acres of parkland. A lot of materials came from the many beautiful buildings of Melbourne that were being demolished to make way for modernization. The addition of mud bricks, rammed earth, the local mud stone , bush timbers, and a great deal of hard labour, Justus Jörgensen’s vision took form. A stitch of 5 3 exposure HDR’s so 15 images in total, black and white conversion in Adobe Lightroom and added in some grass to make the foreground a bit more interesting. Stitched together in Adobe Photoshop CS3 My other photo of Monsalvat here Click here for my other images of Victoria

I’M VERY OFTEN SURPRISED TO SEE HOW A RAINY OVERCAST DAY CAN SOMETIMES BRING OUT MORE COLOR THAN SUNSHINE. THIS WAS TAKEN ON SUCH A DAY IN THE CUYAHOGA VALLEY.
Right in the middle of Newtown is this huge and completely ruined building. Its been there so long and been so completely neglected for so long that the locals no longer notice it. The graceful old lines of the architecture had allowed this building to decay with style. Eventually some developer will come along and convert the site to lots of tiny apartments and all that will remain will be some funny old photos like this one. Taken with infrared film and finished off in photoshop. I love photoshop and I love infrared film. I hope that you the viewer will like to look at this small series of building photos.
Weather today was crap crap crap! Rain…. overcast skies (not dramatic stormy… just crappy overcast). Never-the-less… still managed a dawn foray down to Whale beach and captured this shot. Very photogenic rocks that definitely warrant a return trip with better lighting.
