Was recently asked by a client to provide a series of diptychs portraying their sports field construction work. The series is to focus on “machinery” and “work in progress”. / Other than that the brief suggests that the images be bright and dynamic (will be printed at approx A2 to A1) with a touch of unreality (whatever that means). / I have been shooting at around 4:00pm on sunny days with intersting cloud cover – which there seems to be a lot of lately, fortunately. / I am treating them all with a very mild HDR to satify the “touch of unreality” requirement. / This is the first. Feedback much appreciated!

I did this piece quite some time ago it was the first piece of art actually. I was trying to learn how to layer things. This piece actually is 27 layers combined. It was a painstaking project, and all the images of roses I took myself from my own garden. The bird image was taken at a zoo, some tye of amazon parrot i believe. I sold this piece to a gallery owner, and won a few contests with it. So figured …even tho i dont like it anymore, someone else might appreciate it. / . / . / Lisa C. Frankston Oval Gates, Frankston Victoria Australia These gates were once the entrance to the Old Melbourne Jail . Transferred to Frankston by the First Word War commandant of the Langwarrin Military Camp, Major Condor, who later became the Governor of the Jail . / The gateposts were built by a stoneworker by the name of Thomas Ferbnache affectionately known as Black Tom due to his ruddy complexion . In 1803 the oval area was sought out for its water springs by the first European exploratory parties. / One of a series of prominent buildings and features of the City of Frankston, Victoria, Australia
