It was a dreary and grey day today. The fog was so thick so I decided to go for a drive to one of the lighthouses. This is an old outhouse hanging over the edge of the cliff next to the lighthouse. This is what the lighthouse keeper would use to scratch that itch… lol. It’s probably about 100 feet to the ocean straight below. / / What you can’t see in the image is that behind the outhouse there is nothing but open ocean for the next 3000 miles. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / Canon 400D/XTI / 3 Shots. A look back in time, an old school house waits in the Autumn
This outback toilet, otherwise known as the Loo, the Outhouse, the Thunderbox, the Hole, the Dunny, just to mention a few titles for it, was found on an old abandoned homestead (large property) site in far western New South Wales, Australia. The homestead was built in the 1830’s and this is one of the few remaining buildings still intact, the other buildings being the shearing shed, the stables and the bunker (underground room used to keep both people and supplies cool in the harsh, hot environment). The house itself was destroyed by fire many years ago. / /
I took this shot of an old outhouse door at Secret House Vineyard in Veneta, Oregon.

I took a walk to Turton Towers Last Saturday from my home which took me half an our to get there and I’ve spent an hour there photographing all the different trees in the wood. It was so lovely and pieceful! Canon 5D and Canon Lens 24-105mm
I just love the trees in the woodland of Turton Towers!
As I stopped to photograph this outhouse in Beemersville, New Jersey, the owner of the house came over and told me the complete history of the property. This is one of three on the land, one for Men, one for women, and one for children, The house was once an old meeting place for townsfolk, dating back to 1830. The owners have restored all three outhouses to original condition to keep the history as it was. /
You’ve lost track of days, it feels like months, but you know it hasn’t been that long..dark is all you see, the only hint of daylight is when he opens the door for his visits of terror and torture, the only sound you hear is his footsteps..but this time your ready for him..something inside you has risen ..your going to fight this time..your going to escape….....Your hands bloody and raw from digging the dirt floor, but it was worth it, you found your weapon..rock in hand your poised as you hear his footsteps coming nearer. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm Vr Lens This is a very old outhouse at a church in Cades Cove, Tennessee, up in the mountains.
...from the Wangaratta house.
I loved the different colors and textures to this old outhouse door. / Enjoy! / Livermore, California / / Copyright Notice: / All images are the property of ©Leah Highland and may not be used wholly or in part without the prior written permission by email, including copying, duplicating, manipulating, printing, / publishing (even on a web site), reproducing, storing, or transmitting by any means.
