A sad boy masked as a cute dino.
This colorful outfit was one of the lovely costumes to be found at the Venice Carnival and this outfit was also created by the wearer.
It was Mother’s Day when we went to San Juan Atitan, in the hills of northern Guatemala. They take it pretty seriously up there. Fiesta country. Everybody- bar nobody (except us visitors)- was dressed in these fantastic outfits- brown woolen vests, purple and maroon and red shirts, the men in white dress pants and straw boaters. It was a sight to see en-masse, hundreds of them gathered in the plaza, all in a festive mood. Jorge works for us as a development worker in his own communities, helping mobilize families in the various long-term projects we carry out up here. He smiled a lot more than this, but the moment the camera went in his direction, he looked very serious. But that is one snazzy outfit he has. I think the next time I go I’ll have to get one of my own… :o) May 2007.
I was a young fashion photographer’s assistant who had also photographed racehorses trained by my father. ITV heard the story and wanted to interview me with pictures of girls and horses. In this picture shot for Biba’s, a world famous boutique in Kensington High Street in the 60’s, I decided to combine them both. I borrowed the 20mm lens and the 250 exposure back from my boss, John Cowan, whose studio was used in the 1966 cult film Blow-Up and set off for Sussex. The 20mm lens had only just been introduced and was the first of it’s kind. This is another one of the colorful costumes in the Venice Carnival. / most of the outfits are so creative and lovely that you stand with your mouth open when told that the wearer is the creator of the outfit. Quite amazing to say the least!
HEhe i love this expression its perfect for geekchic role! I think I was telling her how much the camera i was using cost…. over £18,000…. now you all have the same expression! Hehehe

I just loved the hats, and the way everybody was dressed, almost like a uniform, so when this shot lined itself up I couldn’t help but have a go at it. Very cool hats. I want one… :o) May 2007.

Bringing some camp back to my folio. Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2007. I photographed a group of drag queens along the parade route. These two were good friends and playing up for the camera.
Originally shot at RAF Cosford near Wolverhampton in England UK / Copied Rosalies instructions on the sketch jobby, I have done this before but it’s been a while, it’s dead easy to do, takes about 1 minute to get the effects.. / After flattening the image I then pressed ctrl J for a duplicate image, then added a motion blur then in the blending mode clicked on multiply for that extra pencil movement effect. /

This is another view of this lovely outfit created by its wearer at the Venice Carnival.

This started out as a macro of a string of children’s beads on a Fairy wand. I added Orton effect and tweaked the saturation a little. Its a bit different to my usual. Samsung GX-20, Sigma 50mm 2.8 macro lens. Photoshop CS3.

These two were in the crow at the Venice Carnival trying to enjoy the other costumes as I approached them for this photo. A little shy at first after they saw the photo they were willing to pose for me. / Very nice couple.
