I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

Horseshoe Bend is the name for a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona, in the United States. It is located slightly downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell, about four miles or 6 km south of Page. Accessible via a 3⁄4-mile (1.2 km) hike from U.S. Route 89, it can be viewed from the steep cliff above, forming a spectacular vista. / This image is actually made of 4 pictures taken with my Canon 20D – 17-40mm L lens and stitched together to create this panoramic

Sun Beam entering Upper Antelope Canyon, Arizona, USA. Antelope Canyon is the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon formed over the course of millions of years by erosion of the Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding and secondarily due to wind erosion. Rainwater (especially during monsoon season) runs into the wash that Antelope Canyon is part of, picking up speed and sand as it rushes through the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways are eroded away, making the corridors wider and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form characteristic ‘flowing’ shapes in the rock. Upper Antelope Canyon, called Tse bighanilini, “the place where water runs through rocks” by the Navajo, is the most frequently visited by tourists, due to two considerations. First, its entrance and entire length are at ground level, requiring no climbing. Second, beams (shafts of direct sunlight radiating down from openings in the top of the canyon) are much more common in Upper than in Lower. Beams occur most often in the summer months, as they require the sun to be high in the sky. / In the same series: / / /

Have you ever seen a canoe on wheels? No? I’m not surprised! Until my dad invented this cart, we hadn’t either! What you’re seeing is two motorcycle tires/wheels with an axle in between them…on that axle is screwed a wooden platform which has a groove running ‘long ways’ for the bottom of the canoe to rest in. Several tie straps later, we have a canoe cart that can be used to pull/push our canoe to our favorite lake (pictured here), which can be reached by two miles on a gated closed road! We load it up with our camping gear (and occasionally a small child!) and everyone pitches in to ‘manpower’ the canoe and items to the lake. We have immeasurable amounts of wonderful memories, due in part to this great cart (which can be doubled as a game cart when the platform is flipped upside down and a handle screwed onto the one end of it!).

Trümmelbachfälle (Trümmelbach waterfalls) is a unique-in-Europe series of waterfalls inside the mountain. Trümmelbach brook alone drains the whole glaciated area of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau with up to 20.000 liters per second! Take a lift through the mountain and get fascinated by the power of water… Photographing the waterfalls was all but easy: difficult lighting with very high contrast between lit water and dark rocks, long exposures of several seconds, best views being often from bridges trembling due to both tourists’ steps and enormous water masses, omnipresent spray of glacial water and everything wet… Fascinating experience, I have spent two great hours photographing, completely forgetting about the rest of my family… Lauterbrunnental, Switzerland.
