Greetings watchers and welcome to Boreas Pass, Colorado at 11,481 feet high in altitude! This place is just magical….the wildflower fields go on forever…..and it is total serenity…no one around at all. Silence, among the high peaks. Gorgeous to say the least. You honestly feel like you are in heaven up here…on top of the world….where the air is so utterly fresh and the smell of the wildflowers is hypnotizing! You literally just stand in complete and total awe. Take it all in and breath….and the one thing I personally am proud of about this shot is how I was able to get that lighting! “The Road To Home” Ya know, sometimes I just sit in amazement when I am shooting and just look, gaze, and take it all in…..if photography has honestly taught me anything, it’s to see better, noticing things you normally wouldn’t even see. Case in point, this shot here. Most people probably just drive on by this place never giving it a second glance, but to me, it was something very special…...so special that I spent about 30 minutes here shooting it. Living in Colorado really has it’s benefits this time of the year…as Autumn sets in and the sun goes south, the light becomes so utterly magical, thanks to our elevation. It becomes so warm and saturated in the morning, that everything seems so alive….so gold. Captured on a rural backroad between Boulder and Lyons, the old road leading to cattle pastures I felt made a very worthy subject, especially considering the colors involved, the light, and the overall composition with the tree. Richmond Bridge is a lasting symbol of Tasmania’s convict heritage. The sandstone arches of Australia’s oldest known large stone arch bridge have spanned Tasmania’s Coal River since its completion in 1825. Built by convict labour, the Richmond Bridge reminds us of the forced migration that contributed to the development of Australian society. Richmond Bridge was included in the National Heritage List on 25 November 2005.

Shot this morning, a 3 bracket HDR image, output through Photoshop and Photomatix. As I said I was moving out to the country, and the photo-opps are numerous! :) I have always found scenes like this in rural America almost iconic in a sense, the ever enduring struggle of the American Farmer vs Government and big Corporate America. When I saw this I just stopped dead in my tracks, what you don’t see is the ranch house which was built about 30 years ago all boarded up….just sitting there….it really is just sad, seeing these open fields go to waste, the barn empty, with rusty farm equipment, harking back to when a family made an honest living off the land and the crops they raised. Part of America forever lost, part of a families tradition gone, forever. So goes life at times on the Eastern Plains of Colorado….... I love photographing in bad weather, there is just something about the drama of it all that amazes me, and this was of no exception. Garden of the Gods outside of Colorado Springs is the location, a place which, is simply magical and unlike anywhere else on Earth…the light here is the best I have ever seen, and even when there is none, it still holds it own. Captured this past early spring, where at the higher elevations the clouds brought snow, but where I was at, it was rain. A Morning Stroll At the Lake Every now and then we almost miss a shot, and luckily this time I happened to turn around as I was walking back to my car from shooting the sunrise and had this scene greet me. Captured at Cherry Creek State Park outside of Denver, Colorado, the light seemed to almost dance among the trees. Processed in HDR

A Stormy Autumn Colorado’s Longs Peak shrouded in Autumn thunderstorm clouds, stands towering above the quaking Aspen below. This scene was really something to see….the atmosphere was just to die for. The way the contrast played out with the yellow and gold Aspens against that dark sky was astonishing, the light was really changing fast so I had to be fairly quick while shooting this. A New Years Sunrise While not a sunrise in the traditional sense of the word, but it sure seemed to be with the sun hiding behind the clouds, back lighting and glowing everything around me in a colorful haze in Moraine Park inside Rocky Mountain National Park. It was nothing but stunning! Quite the way to start and kick off the New Years I think! Processed in Photomatix HDR with 3 RAW files, then output through PSP 10, , shot on my 5D and Minolta 18-200 DT using a Singh-Ray CPL, and then hiding behind the car to shield myself from 80 MPH wind gusts lol The crazy thing is, the haze in the background, is actually from the snow that was falling and whipping around. The town is made of two separate urbanized areas also called “paese” and “marina”. The first is what’s left of the original medieval town, the second was developed in more recent decades and it now represents the center of Belvedere Marittimo’s commercial and turistic services. Main sights The “Castello del Principe” was originally built by the Normands on what is the highest hill by the coast, around the year 1000. The castle was restored and enriched during the Spanish domination to assume the shape and architecture currently visible. Well this shot did really well over on deviantART so I thought that I would also share with you all here too. (I honestly wasn’t expecting the 1600 odd favorites it received over there, took me by surprise!) Storm clouds fight with the evening sunset over the Colorado Rockies & Longs Peak. Every now and then I like to get a little artistic with my HDR’s and this is one of those, there is no right, no wrongs when it comes to photography and artistic interpretation, and i realize that not everyone likes that, nor this style, that is fine, I respect that, but I also ask the same of you to respect my creativeness, too! The Fenland Trail in the morning affords a good opportunity to see wildlife moving around the marsh and river areas. This trail connects to the Bow River Trail which actually goes all the way into Banff townsite proper. If you have time, this is a nice easy walk to get to this area without actually having to drive to get to it. The Vermillion Lakes are slightly to the west of the Fenland Trail and you can either walk to them or drive your car and use the pulloffs available. It’s a bit noisy being so close to the Trans Canada Hwy, but the scenery more than makes up for it. Throughout the day you’ll see numerous waterfowl frequenting the area. The real draw, however, is in the evening when the winds are low and the water is still, making the lake surface a mirror reflection of the now beautifully lit Mt Rundle in the background. I hope no one is getting tired of these bears. I try to only upload images that have enough differences to make them truly individual works. Sutton Bank is a high vantage point at the very edge of the Hambleton Hills and the North York Moors with extensive views over the Vale of York and the Vale of Mowbray. Because of its location and high elevation, Sutton Bank is popular with gliding and flying enthusiasts. Predominant landmarks include Whitestone Cliff and Roulston Scar, the former overlooking the mysterious (and reputedly bottomless !) Lake Gormire. Close nearby are the villages of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliff, and Kilburn (famous for the White Horse of Kilburn, and Robert Thompson – the “Mouseman” of Kilburn). / Sutton Bank is one of the most spectacular inland cliffs anywhere in Britain, and carries one of the most hair-raising main roads in the country. The near vertical drop from top to bottom is around 140 metres, and crosses at least two major geological boundaries. / The Sutton Bank National Park Centre is on the western edge of the fabulous North York Moors National Park – home to the largest expanse of heather moorland in England. Scalea is a picturesque, little town which takes its name from its terraced lay-out an the hillside, at the bottom of the Capo Scalea promontory. The old town is placed on the heights and preserves the remains of an ancient wall, while towards the beach, the Scalea Marina centre has recently been developed, with modern, comfortable hotels splendid villas and numerous, fully-equipped bathing areas on the beach. These enchanting beaches look out onto a sea of incomparable beauty. This town was no doubt inhabited even in prehistorical times, as proved by the material of the Paleolithic period that was excavated in a cavern near Torre Talao, which dominates over the rocky promontory called Scalea Island. It is claimed that the town of Lao, of pre- Indo-European origin and colonized by the Sybarites in the 6th-5th century B.C., once stood an the plain South of Scalea, near the mouth of the river Lao. Nowadays Scalea is synonymous of seaside and holidays. Indeed, it is one of the most visited resorts in Italy. But the name of Scalea is also synonymous of culture, history and folklore. During the Swabian, Angevin, Aragonese and Spanish era, Scalea became an important fief and a centre of study, which was gradually enriched with monuments and works of art, most of which can still be admired today. The 13th century Palazzo of the Spinelli Princes (XIII century), which belongs to the Town Council, is the most important building of the lower part of the old Town Centre. In the old hamlet the main “street” is an attractive stairway that begins in piazza De Palma: it is a natural amphitheatre.
