Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (1 from series of 6 – redesigned from 2004/5 Japanese Series). Re-worked combining two from the series. Shot the tree, flowers & combined them in P/S with drawn elements & filtered the lot. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Generally I tire of my artwork yet still love this series to this day.

I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

When I first came to Redbubble, I only had a couple pieces to post. I always reduced the size of my photos before editing them(making them too small for here), just didn’t have a reason to keep them full size until Redbubble. Anyways, I threw this pic up, just so I had more than 2 posted. I didn’t really even like it. The original shot’s exposure was all kinds of screwed up. I edited so much, I was just plain sick of it. But like I said, it was a filler pic. I sooo did not expect the amount of attention it received, much less that it sold. I’ve actually grown to really like it too. So I thought I’d share this, and the original shot with everyone. So here it is: This piece was my very first sold piece. It was also chosen for the Featured Art Page (before group featuring), featured in A Photographer’s Craft group, and was a finalist in the May US Scenic Photo Contest. Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) with a dark twist. This was the first of my Dark Dreams flower series, most of which I have pulled from redbubble. It was also one of my first images here. Obviously it was photoshoped. I get a lot of questions about why there are scratches on it, it was to give it an old aged look. The texture would make it a great canidate for a canvas print… hint hint ;) This is the original: / I believe this is the largest image in my portfolio, and that is because it was taken with my old 35 mm SLR, then scanned in (I have a really good scanner that scans really big) If you are seeing this image in a group for the first time, that is because I just realized it wasn’t in any groups! I must have cleared it out to make room for newer stuff. This peice was my very first one chosen on the Featured Art page and was featured in Ebony and Ivory group.
