This is a special place just near Mitchell Falls. With a bit of scrambling you can get up to this magical, cool, lush cave behind the falls. There is Aboriginal art here too. It truly is a special place.

At the beginning of Autumn in the Central Deserts the long flower stalks of spinifex linger even though their task is complete for another year and the Desert Oak remain unmoved by the changing temperatures. The sun is moving and it covers only a fraction of the face of this imposing yet very unknown brother of Uluru soon the sun will rise further to the north and no more direct rays of sunlight on the face. Pristine dunes lead to the Rock
The approach to our room at the Voyages Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge. Off the Lasseter Highway at Yulara NT Australia, the hotel is about five miles from the Connellan Airport (Ayers Rock Airport). Taken by me in 2003 using my Minolta DiMage 7i DSLR camera.

Watarrka National Park, and its most famous landmark, Kings Canyon, is located 330 kilometres south west of Alice Springs in the Uluru / Kata Tjuta region of the Northern Territory. The park encompasses the western end of the George Gill Range and is home to a variety of unique native flora and fauna, including over 600 different plant species. The area has also been home to Luritja Aboriginal people for the last 20,000 years. The word Watarrka refers to the umbrella bush that proliferates in this area.
